Coffee of the Day - actually, today I'm having a yummy tea - Strawberry, Lavender, Mint Green blend from a wonderful tea shoppe in Ann Arbor, Michigan :)
Hello to everyone! yep, once again I have been missing from my blog. all for good reasons, I assure you. I had even picked up a few goodies to do a birthday blog candy, and then didn't even get around to posting. how sad is that?! ;) I'll try to get that up by the weekend though.
I have been to several protests against pipelines and fracking, so traveling all over Ohio. hubby and I are also delivering water and other supplies to Flint, Michigan every Saturday to try to help the situation there. Even Palmer went along on our last trip! Country dog in the big city! :) of course he was a big hit. He celebrates his fist birthday next week.... oh how the time has flown! When not traveling, I am busy working at Camp. yep, life is lots of fun and filled to the brim!!!
So today I am sharing a card I have made for both the progressive monthly challenge in the Simply Betty Facebook group and for a very special young lady we know. :) I hope she enjoys it as much as we enjoy having her in our lives! :)
The challenge is to use at least one decorative paper, the colors red, black, yellow, and cream, and also add glitter.
I used Prima digital papers and elements from the Doodledux collection, added touches with stickles glitter and the wink of stella pen, included flowers from Michael's, Prima, and Wild Orchid Crafts, vintage buttons, and finished the card with glitter ribbon also found at Michael's. the inside is decorated, too, with elements from the same Prima digital paper collection. I added cream acrylic paint to the card edges.
Thank you so much for stopping by! love to all of you!

Feathers and Pearls Progressive Challenge
Coffee of the Day - Salted Caramel
Hello again! I bet you are surprised to see me back so soon. :) While I was in my craft room, I decided to get my card finished for the Simply Betty Facebook group's monthly progressive challenge. the deadline is in just a few days, so I'm cutting it close this month. nothing like losing time from computer crashes and illness....
The theme for our challenge is pearls and feathers. we were given this neat roaring 20's image to use. isn't she pretty?
I decided to go with a bit of a retro feel with my card. I found some neat digital feather paper online that fit with the entire 1920's look. I wanted to paint her hair blue to show her independence and rebellious streak that was so prevalent in women of the era. :)
flowers and leaves are from Wild Orchid Crafts, ribbon & twine are from Really Reasonable Ribbon, crochet trim, vintage button, & tag are from my stash and little pearl accents are by Studio G. the little pearls on the image are painted with shimmerz.
thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a most amazing week! :)

Hello! Have a Lovely Day! Coloring Contest Entry
Coffee of the Day - Pumpkin Spice (again!)
Since I am still not feeling well enough to go to any of the rallies and protests scheduled this weekend, I hit the craft room yesterday and participated in a coloring contest going on in the La La Land Facebook group. Participants are asked to use this cutey image, 'Lovely Marcie.' She only has to be colored, but I went ahead and added her to a card. She is available for a discount for the time of the challenge, which is so nice of the owner! :)
papers are from the Basic Grey Typeset collection, flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, buttons & lace trim are vintage, and dies are by Spellbinders. accents on main image were made with a white gel pen and touches of Frantage embossing powder were also added for some fun sparkle. sentiment was included in the digi set by La La Land.
heading back to the craft room in just a bit for more relaxing therapy. ;) hope all of you have a great weekend! ours has lots of snow in the forecast!!! y'all know how I love my snow! :)
hugs to each of you! Jennifer

Thinking of You Birthday Card
Coffee of the Day - English Toffee
Super quick post today as I am on my way out the door to a pipeline protest. Also trying to get this card in the mail for a birthday next week.
Over in the Simply Betty Facebook group there is a monthly progressive challenge. this is the image that was provided this month. isn't she so lovely? we also had a color challenge to use. I decided to create a birthday card for Mick's girlfriend.
papers are from a pad I picked up at Michael's. flowers are from both Michael's and Wild Orchid Crafts. main die and matting one are by Spellbinders while the large flourish is by Sizzix. buttons are from my vintage stash. the sentiment is not from the challenge set, but is from Simply Betty. lace and baker's twine are also stash items. a bit of shimmerz paint accents the main image as does a white gel pen.
the large flourish is cut from a piece of re-purposed plastic packaging.
thanks for stopping by! enjoy your weekend! gotta dash......

Sun Fun Beach Kitty
Winner at Show Us Your Cats
Winner at Crafty Calendar
Coffee of the Day - Salted Caramel
I have a fun little shaped card to share with all of you today. I know it seems like it's been ages since I last shared anything with you. so very sorry about that. been so busy behind the scenes getting projects made for upcoming posts. :) horrid tease, aren't I?!
I am also joining the Doctor Digi DT over on their Facebook page, posting every other Thursday. the images are a hoot, some causing eyebrows to raise! not in an offensive way by any means, so don't worry.
edit - sadly some health issues have come up so I am now a 'one hit wonder' with this team. I'm not going to be able to be a part afterall, much to my dismay. but please do head to the store and Facebook group to see all of the fun things they have to inspire you.
Today is my first day posting, so pop over to the group. if you head to the store, you'll find sections of both free images as well as some called 'cheapies.' both of the images on my card today come from these 2 areas.
I placed the fun cat, Schrodinger (ha! the nerd in me loves this!!) under the beach umbrella and then fussy cut the scene. I then painted in a little sand and ocean for him. the great sun card shape is a template from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.
papers are from the Basic Grey Shine On collection, buttons are from my vintage stash, red twine is from Michael's, and little flower is by Wild Orchid Crafts. sentiment was generated on the label maker.
p.s. I have a secret I have been hiding. Moon Pie, our rescue cat from 2 months ago, has an online girlfriend. yep. it's out now. meet Princess Anna. she is the model for my cat coloring these days. because it's not easy to paint a black cat and not have it look like a blob. so I seem to always paint Anna. grins! isn't she a beauty though? he comes up to the monitor every time my friend, Debra, posts a piccy of her. isn't that a hoot? he is smitten!
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a most amazing day! :)

A Pretty Little Pink Purse
Top 3 Pick at Scrapper's Delight
Coffee of the Day - Vanilla Macadamia
Our neighbor is expecting her 2nd child within the next week or so, and I wanted to make a little giftie for her daughter. She is just the cutest little girl and really loved to say hello to Mocha whenever we were all outside together. :)
This 'Lipstick' image was given as part of the Progressive Challenge over in the Scrapper's Delight Facebook group, so I thought it would be fun on a cute little paper purse.
a little doily smidgen, several shades of glimmer mist sprayed on the card stock, spot of vintage lace, WOC cosmos, a big bright button to hold it together (actually a velcro dot hidden under the flap does the trick!), and finally a strap made from hot pink quatrefoil satin ribbon tied in a bow.
we found several flavors of Burt's Bees lip balms to tuck inside. perfect for any 3 year old ready to be 'Big Sister'!!! :)
and she loved it! I was so happy when she kept putting on her 'lipstick' and then looked all over her house for things to put in her new purse! :)
Happy Friday to all of you! enjoy your day!
Challenges:
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Love to Scrap - make it girly
Not Just Cards - anything goes
In the Pink - for a child/baby
Creative Knock-outs - tic tac toe (digi, distressing, flower)
Through the Purple Haze - anything goes
613 Avenue Create - anything goes or nautical
Jo's Scrap Shack - anything goes

Sweet Little Mushroom Fairy
Coffee of the Day - Bourbon Pecan
whew.... we made it through Monday! ;) I'm excited because Ryan comes home from school tomorrow! don't know how long he will be here though because he goes right back to Indiana for a summer internship. I just know I'll take having him here for as long as he wants to stay! :) makes this momma heart happy to have the little birds back in the nest ANY time! :)
but you came here for crafty stuff, so craft stuff you shall see!
I played along in a freebie coloring challenge over on Facebook. everyone who participated was given this precious Mushroom Fairy image created by Moon Flower Digi Stamps. This is actually a birthday card going to a young lady who lives across the ocean, so I'm putting it in the mail today in hopes it gets to her in time for her big day at the end of the month.
papers are from the My Mind's Eye Gnome Sweet Gnome collection, flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts, and micro brown gingham is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. her wings have accents of white gel pen and wink of stella glitter pen. the same white gel pen was used to accent the mushroom, too. red burlap string ties one of the vintage buttons.
Enjoy your day and thanks so much for stopping by! :)
Challenges:
Crafting From the Heart - anything goes
Eureka - feminine/Mother's Day
Whoopsi Daisy - fairy dreams
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper - anything goes with patterned paper
Crafting When We Can - add flowers

A Fun Little Shamrock Shaped Card
Coffee of the Day - Spiced Pecan
So how is your weekend going so far? is it sunshiney where you are? cold? warm? we have bits of snow on the ground, but not too much. it's been a fairly mild winter so far.
Today I am going to share with you a card I made using the freebie image given out over at Sandra Caldwell's Facebook page as part 3 of the Facebook challenge. You can also find the image in her Etsy store here.
The shamrock card template comes from The Cutting Cafe. I will warn you now that it is small. I had to print the digi out super teeny tiny in order to get it to fit. but it sure is cute! :)
paper is from the Authentique Charmed collection. I intentionally offset the pale green piece. little doily is from Etsy and pale green rose is from Wild Orchid Crafts. pretty ribbons can be found at Really Reasonable Ribbons. for a bonus, the light green grosgrain is even on sale right now! gotta love sale stuff. ;)
of course every St. Patrick's Day card needs it's spot of gold, so I added some fun sequins.
enjoy your day! I really appreciate you stopping by! see you tomorrow. :)
Challenges:
Choux Choux Paper Art - St. Patrick's Day or green
Come and Get It - monochrome
Great Impressions - Let's Celebrate (St. Patrick's Day)
Hiding in My Craft Room - any holiday (St. Patrick's Day)
Fussy and Fancy - shabby and fun bingo (cute image, ribbons or bows, shaped card, anything goes - sequins)
Creative Knockouts - go green
DL Art Thankful Thurs - frogs and/or green (do leapin' ladybugs count?! grins!)
Star Stampz - monochromatic

Just a quickie post this evening. it's been crazy around here with the flu and car troubles. yuck to both of those. hope like at your house is much more fun! :)
I wanted to play along in a neat challenge going on at both The Outlawz group as well as the Scrapper's Delight Facebook group. Outlawz had a sketch challenge and Scrapper's Delight had a freebie image challenge. I combined both on my card. :)
image is from Scrapper's Delight, papers are from the Basic Grey Typeset collection, sentiment stamp by My Favorite Things, butterfly die by Cat's Pajamas, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, and buttons & seam binding are vintage.
fairy wings are covered with a wink of stella clear glitter pen. butterflies have similar accents as well as dots made with a white gel pen.
I'll be back tomorrow with a post for Paper Temptress. see you then! :) until then, enjoy your weekend!
Challenges:
Outlawz Wed Sketch - sketch
Craft for the Craic - January Blues
Aud Sentiments - anything goes with a sentiment
Crafty Ribbons - Fabulous Flowers with ribbon
Through the Purple Haze - things with wings
Crafting By Designs - add a flowers
Simon Says Stamp Wed - anything goes

Some Great Videos for Light-source!
Coffee of the Day - Creme Brulee
I know I've been away from my blog for ages, but my scanner finally kicked that ol' bucket. I can't get any others to work the way I need them to, so no more photos from me until I can get a light tent for my camera. it might be a while, so y'all bear with me.
sadly, I had to leave 2 new Design Teams before I really even got started with them since I won't have a way to upload pix. insert major sad face here..... :(
until I can get something else worked out, I'm working on Project Life and classes at Kit and Clowder. if you have taken any of the K&C classes, you know that they all begin with light-source. man oh man, that one was giving me the biggest fits! I couldn't for the life of me get my head wrapped around the terms.
thankfully a new friend in the K&C Facebook group shared some videos with me. voila! the light bulb went off.... ha ha ha! pardon the pun, but these truly did make a ton of difference! I want to share the first one here with you, and then link to several others in hopes that they might help you as well.
Foundations of Light and Shadow Part 1 - Planes
disclaimer - these in NO WAY take the place of Alyce's class. they only helped me to have a better understanding of what she was talking about. it's kinda like looking things up in the dictionary or encyclopedia. you still need to take her class. she is a whiz bang mastermind with Copics!!!!!
Foundations of Light and Shadow Part 2 - Terminator
Foundations of Light and Shadow Part 3 - Reflected Light

Thankful for YOU! :)
Coffee of the Day - Eggnog
Why yes, I am thankful for YOU! grins! y'all put up with my long absences, and I really appreciate you hanging in with me. all of you so rock the casbah! :)
the Simply Betty group over on Facebook has a challenge to use this cute image, add pleats, use autumn colors, and then frame the sentiment that comes with the image. phew..... that is a bunch of stuff to do, especially for someone like me who does not do well with adding those fine details to my watercoloring. but I did try. must say it is not one of my best efforts, but try I did. ;)
the frame for the sentiment comes from Graphics Fairy. isn't it gorgeous? papers are Basic Grey Indian Summer. I am gonna be crying in my coffee when I use the last of this precious collection. it is one of my all time faves. the fabby embossing folder is by Sizzix, and the oval die is Spellbinders. everything else is from my stash.
Hope to be back, if at all possible, with another project before Thanksgiving. y'all take care! much love to ya!

Our Newest Family Member!
Coffee of the Day - Almond Joy
On Monday Mick was able to rescue this wonderful lab/American bulldog mix from the shelter down near where he lives in Kent. the pup has a new name of Brutus for his new life with Mick! we are all so very excited to welcome him into the Scull family!! :) the top pix are from Brutus's professional photo shoot at the rescue shelter. these next few are from when Mick took him to the park and then when they got back to Mick's apt.
Brutus and Mick came for a visit to our home on Tuesday while Dave and I took a trip to Indiana to see Ryan for a belated birthday visit. Mick was taking care of our pups here at the house while we were gone for 2 days. evidently Mocha was not too thrilled to have a new family member, but Latte took it all in stride. considering the dogs here are over 12 years old and Brutus is about 2, things went pretty well! :)
we had a great visit with Ryan at IWU. God is just doing such amazing things in Ryan's life there. even though he is so far away, it makes my heart so happy to hear him talk of all that is happening. I am so very proud of Ryan, and his brothers, too! here is a link to an interview with Ryan done for a neat FB group from his school if you are interested. :)
I am trying to play catch-up on emails and computer stuff today, but should have my Pink-tober blog candy up by Saturday for World Card Making Day! there will be one big prize and 2 smaller ones, so that gives several people an opportunity to win! I hope you will stop back by!
take care and know I am thinking of you today! :)

A Very Special ATC
Coffee of the Day - Caramel Vanilla Creme
Today I want to share with you a very special little bear on a very special little ATC.
September 11 is a day of sadness for many of us, but the world lost a shining star this year in the sudden passing of Amanda Reed. I hadn't known her for very long, but what I did know what a most kind and talented lady. You can find her Facebook page here, and if you are so inclined, make a donation to her family here.
The very amazing folks over at Polkadoodles created this adorable digi image to honor Amanda. Alyce has a challenge in her FB Kit and Clowder group for anyone who uses the cutey.
I made an ATC using papers from the Basic Grey Fresh Cut collection. you might remember that this is one of my faves that BG has recently released. LOVE the colors! flower is Prima that I accented with stickles, sentiment sticker is by SRM, and everything else is from my stash. stickles were also used to accent the heart and flower center on the bear.
Challenges:
Wicked Wed ATC - fave color combo (pinks, kraft, and bluish greens)
Crafting From the Heart - anything goes
Eureka - use a floral paper
Stamp and Create - circles or dots
Opus Gluei - ATC
Pile it On - flowers and/or feathers (hey there to my former teamies!)
Craft for the Craic - circles on your project
Crafts 4 Eternity - fave color combo (pinks, kraft, and bluish greens)
Pattie's Creations - dog or cat
Double Click Skittles - animal

Blessings - yes, I got crafty! :)
Coffee of the Day - Sweet Potato
Your eyes are not deceiving you - yes, I did actually make a card! :)
hopefully this will be the first of many!
I have to give LOTS of credit to the very amazing and encouraging people over at Kit and Clowder - a wonderful group of crafters I have come to know on Facebook. yes, nice people DO exist on Facebook. ;) my card is made for one of the challenges going on in the group there. this happens to be for the sketch challenge.
image and sentiment are from the Crafty Secrets Thanksgiving collection. papers are from the Authentique Thankful collection, flowers are Petaloo, burlap ribbon is May Arts, and buttons are vintage. I added some touches with my white gel pen and white craft ink.
sorry for the scan being a bit crooked. it's been so long since I've used my scanner that it was giving me some fits. took me way too many tries to get it to work, as it kept turning off on me. so once I was able to get it to actually scan, I just went with it.
Challenges:
Crafty Secrets - monthly linky party
Kit and Clowder FB - sketch ch
Come and Get it - use a digi and an Autumn theme
613 Avenue Create - anything goes
Crafting at the Weekend - anything goes
Di's Digi Designs - stripes and/or checks
Chocolate, Coffee, and Cards - vintage
Sister Act - anything goes
Milk Coffee - colors of autumn
Creative Moments - anything goes/fall colors

Liberty and Happy July 4th!
Coffee of the Day - Coconut Macaroon
Happy 4th of July to all of my fellow peeps here in the States! to everyone, happy day! I hope whatever today and the weekend may bring, make it happy and surround yourself with the people you love! :)
I have a small project to bring you today that shows just a glimpse of my love for this great country we live in! sure, like anywhere, it has it's negative aspects, but it is truly a most beautiful place!
I've used the Eagle with Shield image by Paulette at Create with TLC and printed it onto a piece of paper from the Authentique Pride collection. from there I cut a tag shape, adding a neat little reinforcement sticker from The Kraft Outlet. flower and trim at the bottom of the tag are both by Prima, buttons are vintage, red satin ribbon is May Arts.
I know it seems I go several days with no word at all, but I really am busy crafting 'in the background,' making projects for upcoming posts. so be prepared for lots of stuff to come! :)
also, I seem to have gremlins that inhabit pretty much everything techy I touch...... they have gotten hold of my FB friend list once again. thankfully some family members got in touch with me, (although they were NOT happy campers, I tell you!), asking why I had 'unfriended' them. I don't ever look at my friend list to see what the number is or who is on it, so didn't realize that the little gremlins had gone in and had a re-sort of my list.
do you have any idea how hard it is to look at a list and see who is missing? and then wonder, "gosh, is this part of the gremlin mess or did they unfriend me? do I send a friend request or not?" it's high school all over again.... sheesh...... so I have been trying to send out requests, but if I missed you, please please please do not take it personally. I am so human it is pathetic. I mess up all the time. it has nothing to do with YOU. just hit the little FB button over there on the right side bar and send me a new message. you will see that I am a whack-a-doodle over there, too. :)
Challenges:
Kraft Journal - red, white, and blue
Crafty Catz - stars, stripes, or both
Crafty Ribbons - anything goes with ribbon
DL Art Thankful Thurs - anything goes
Crafter's Cafe - red, white, and blue
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper - anything goes w/patterned paper
Party Time Tues - patriotic color inspiration
Shopping Our Stash - red, white, and blue (everything is old stash!)
My Craft Spot - patriotic
Craft Your Passion - ribbon

Epic Day on a Bike
Coffee of the Day - Caramel Nut
Today I share with you my next installment in the Jellypark Post Pals card drive. this little guy on his bike makes me smile so big! I have made my card for Alan S., who is a big fan of Dr. Who - of course I HAD to send him a card! :)

I knew that the fella needed a sidewalk for his bike, so I painted one in. papers are from the Basic Grey Capture collection, since it had lots of blue in it - Alan's fave color! Let's Play!
Coffee of the Day - Sweet Potato (brown sugar, butter cream yumminess!)
Claire Keay of Jellypark has started up a new group over on Facebook to help collect cards for children who are facing terrible illnesses. I was happy to join to hopefully bring some smiles to these children. You can find out more about these children here at Post Pals.
Yesterday I was able to make my first card, and it is going to Tie D. He likes red, Transformers, and Star Wars. I thought this fun sock monkey paper from Basic Grey was perfect to go with Claire's cutey image! all papers are from the Hey Boy collection. sticker is from SRM and dies are Spellbinders. nothing fancy since it's going to a little boy.
Challenges:
Crazy 4 Challenges - sketch
Jellypark - anything goes w/Jellypark image
Word Art Wed - anything encouraging goes
Glitter 'n Sparkle - cards for men or male colors
