Coffee of the Day - Gingerbread (yeah, not really appropriate for the season, but it sure does taste good!)
My family leaves tomorrow to attend a reunion in eastern PA. I'm not well enough to go along with them, but I am so very happy they get to go! it has been years since Dave last saw his mom, so this is a pretty big deal - well worth a 6 hour drive for them. I know they are going to have a wonderful time!
while they are gone, some friends of ours are coming in to work the kitchen at Camp. Dave wanted me to make a thank you card he could leave for them. this cutey turtle image from QKR Stampede seemed perfect!
I added several of the landscape digi images from Eureka Stamps to help complete the little scene. You'll be seeing these quite a bit in upcoming posts. our theme for this summer at Camp is 'Go West,' and I am making cards for not only my family, but a few others who will be working there, too.
I used digital papers from the Carta Bella Giddy Up collection. burlap ribbon is by May Arts while the red satin is more from the Really Reasonable Ribbon May Club kit that I won. sentiment was computer generated, buttons are from my stash, and flower is by Petaloo. I added a bit of faux cross stitching to the sides of the paisley paper. a touch of shimmerz paint on the dinner bell along with an arrow die cut complete the card.
I hope to get around to everyone's blogs this weekend to say hello. I'm still trying to do a bit of work on my computer. little bits here and there, but it's almost finished! hooray! :)

Memorial Day Blessings.... His Soul Goes Marching On
Coffee of the Day - Maple Walnut
Happy Memorial Day to all of my friends here in the good ol' US of A! :) and a big howdy do to everyone else who stops by as well! :)
I come from a family filled with soldiers. some of my cousins are still in the military. so today is one of special significance to me. one of my uncles was killed in combat and many friends have fought in our various wars. I always stop to remember those who have given the greatest sacrifice to our country as well as those who serve.
it doesn't matter what anyone's political views are - there are still people all around the world who are serving in the military in some form or fashion, putting their lives on the line, regardless of politics. and they should be thanked & lifted in prayer. just my opinion of course.
for my card today I used a vintage postcard image by Ellen Clapsaddle. I have quite a collection of vintage postcards myself, but rarely put them directly onto cards or projects. I prefer to print out the images if I can find them in the public domain. This particular postcard was posted yesterday over at Little Birdie Blessings. she shared several that were quite lovely and very appropriate for today.
Papers are a combo of Authentique's Glory and Pride collections. ribbons and trims come from a fabulous May Ribbon Club Assortment I was blessed to win from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I dyed the whites the give them a more shabby feel.
the bark stars and flowers are all from Live and Love Crafts. some of the flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts, but I think the poppies are their own private stock. I also hand dyed 2 of them red to match my papers. buttons are all vintage, ticket is from my stash, and postage stamps are some I saved from mail received. they come in so handy on projects like this! the tag was embossed then lightly inked to accent the stars. I think this is one of my favorite embossing folders!
Hope your week is off to a great start! thanks for stopping by!
Challenges:
Really Reasonable Ribbon - red, white, and blue with ribbon
That Craft Place - shabby chic
613 Avenue Create - anything goes or create your own: 1. image, patterned paper 2. die cut (little arrow in upper left corner is a die cut) 3. dry embossing 4. flowers, buttons 5. square card, twine, ribbon
Hiding in My Craft Room - any holiday (Memorial Day)
Creative Corner - anything goes
Robyn's Fetish - anything goes
Penny's Paper Crafty - anything goes
Party Time Tues - anything goes
Incy Wincy - all or nothing (I went for ALL!)
The Crazy Challenge - use ribbon or lace

Patriotic Puppy
Coffee of the Day - Irish Cream
Hooray! I was able to get into my computer files and get crafty today!!! you can't begin to imagine just how happy that makes me! :) while not among the major things in life to get worked up about, I still wasn't too excited to lose all of my files if I wasn't able to get the files retrieved from the external hard drive....
so on to my card ~
I used this cutey Patriotic Puppy image along with the Declaration of Independence saying, both from Eureka Stamps. (although I used the digi versions) most of the papers are from the Authentique Pride collection. I must say that Authentique has the very coolest patriotic papers, and I frequently use all of them together. I hoard what I do have like a miser. a new collection is coming out soon, so I am very excited about that! :)
the sentiment portion was first sponged and then sprayed with 2 shades of glimmer mist. as you can see, I made a shaker card out of it. a bit of re-purposed packaging works perfectly as the shaker top! the neat wooden bark star at the top comes from Live and Love Crafts. (psssst..... they have a sale going on right now!!!) the denim belt loop is just a fun bit because nothing personifies the spirit of America like a pair of blue jeans! :)
to those of you here in the States, have a safe Memorial Day weekend. I hope to be back tomorrow with another project to share. see you then! :)
Challenges:
Eureka - shaker card
DeConstructed Sketches - sketch #201
Open Minded Crafting - Inspired by a Song (it has to be the Star Spangled Banner!)
Sister Act - any card goes
Crafting by Designs - sentiments
Fresh Brewed Designs - red, white, and blue
Inspiration Destination - anything goes
WAW - anything goes family friendly
Scribbles Designs - 'B' is for.... (blue, buttons, bark, belt loop, bandanna on pup) also waving hi to my former teamies!!!
Crafty Sentiments - anything goes
TTCRD - anything goes
Top Tip Tues - animals (waving hi to my former teamies here, too!)
Craft and Smash - animal

Shhhhh.... it might just be fixed!
Coffee of the Day - Sweet Potato
I don't want to speak too loudly so as not to jinx myself, but my compy might just be fixed! quiet hoorahs over here! I have spent 4 straight days working like a crazy woman on it. just glad that I can do many of the repairs myself. VERY thankful for that!
my external hard drive was the culprit, having been corrupted by a file I tried to download several days ago. icky viruses and such. :(
anyhow, since that IS my back-up, I haven't had access to any of my digital files of any kind - images or papers. about 2:30pm today I was finally able to get into the device for the first time so that I could move the files back onto my hard drive. whew.... what a relief!
looks like hubby will be taking a trip to the computer store next week to pick up a new one for me. of course the boys will be more than happy to tag along, since that is one of their most favorite stores to visit!
crossing fingers I will be back in business tomorrow, which means I can be back crafting tomorrow or Monday at the very latest.
thanks for being so patient with me! love to all of you!

Serious Compy Problems
Coffee of the Day - Kahlua and Cream
My compy is having major troubles right now, so I am going to be away for a bit. I'm working like a mad woman trying to fix it. as soon as I get a few things repaired, then some other ugly problem rears its head. hope to be back in a few days, but we shall see.
in the mean time, y'all take care! big hugs to ya!

Look for the Small Miracles
Coffee of the Day - Maple Walnut
Today I am sharing a long adored stamp - 'Lavender Bouquet' from the Gruffies line by House Mouse. I have a thing about fresh lilacs. I guess because I used to pick them from the bushes when I was a little girl. there scent is one of my most faves. mine will soon be blooming, and I am so excited! :)
I used some free digital paper from Far Far Hill, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, a precious sentiment by Paulette at Create with TLC, vintage buttons, dies by Spellbinders (main image and sentiment) as well as Cheery Lynn (leaf flourish), some gorgeous floral trim that I can't for the life of me remember where I purchased, manilla tag, satin ribbon, and a little kraft bag that I am re-purposing. the lilacs have accents with a wink of stella glitter pen. little banners along the edge were made with a punch by SU!
card edges were painted with acrylic paint. this is a large card to accommodate the large stamp size. I have left the tag blank for now. will add a sentiment or hand written message once I decide who it is going to. might even adhere a gift card to the tag with glue dots if I am so inclined. :)
Take care, and I hope your week is going well so far!

So Adorable Ballerina
Coffee of the Day - Coconut Caramel Hazelnut Rum (well, it IS Saturday, afterall!)
My card share for today is a very precious one to me. you see it was made for a magazine submission, but was returned at the last minute because it was not needed afterall. I try to make all of my cards special, but the magazine ones get LOTS of extra attention and love. I have to take note of every detail, description, and item I use, so it just stands that there is a bit more focus on them. plus, gosh, a ton more people are going to see them! ;)
I have a most adorable young lady in mind that this is being mailed to, so I hope she enjoys it. :)
The image is from A Day for Daisies, papers & elements are from the Basic Grey Fresh Cut collection (most are printed from digital), flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts, chalk tag is My Mind's Eye, glassine bag is K & Co, ribbon is May Arts, and baby button card is from my vintage stash. other buttons are also vintage, and doily is from my stash, too.
main die is Spellbinders, tiny leaf flourish dies are Cheery Lynn, while gorgeous floral corner die is Wild Rose Studio. accents to flowers on main image with stickles and her tutu with clear wink of stella glitter pen.
I'm still dealing with my seizures, so getting to all of your blogs has not been easy. I am so very sorry. hope to get better at leaving comments and stopping by as soon as possible. I do think of each of you often, I promise! :)
Hope your weekend is off to a splendid start so far!

Thanks a Latte!
Coffee of the Day - Sweet Potato
Crossing another card off of my 'honey do' list, and of course this one was loads of fun to make! :)
Some very special friends of ours sent me a most delicious package of coffee a little bit ago, so I wanted to make a coffee themed thank you card for them. Out came a stamp I had not used in ages - one of the cutey Riley & Co. moose stamps.
papers are from the Basic Grey Hey Boy collection, sentiment is from the My Favorite Things Perk Up set (another from this great set is stamped inside), flowers are a combo of Prima and Wild Orchid Crafts, linen thread is SU!, and wood veneer pieces are by Latina Crafter. a Starbucks coffee cozy was re-purposed for a bit of fun! :)
a word of caution with these particular wood veneer pieces - as cute as they are, they are VERY THIN. the first banner I used broke apart just from trying to put glue on the back. quite flimsy. cute, but not easy to use. for the bigger pieces, it's not a big deal, but tricky with the banner. I decided to use foam pop ups on this one, just on the ends, to minimize the amount of handling required. it still almost broke apart. I'm a bit worried about how it is going to do going through the mail, even with all of the bubble wrap I added. crossing my fingers. I would recommend hand delivery for the future.
Hope you have a great weekend! :)

Hello, Friend! ATC
Coffee of the Day - Vanilla Caramel Hazelnut
Hello, Friend! that is the theme of my post today! :)
I have been trying to do a bit of crafting here and there when I can. thank you once again for all of you leaving such wonderfully kind posts about my yuck-o seizures. they haven't let up any yet, but I am trying to not let them get the best of me. not always easy when it feels as if I'm on a permanent brain freeze along with 10 bajillion volts of electricity running through my body, but hey, we do what we can to get through the day. :)
thank goodness that each day brings oh, so many reasons to be thankful and find joy!
today I am showing a little ATC that I made. I haven't made one of these in a while, so thought it was about time. they are so fun to create! and the neat thing is that they fit right in a Project Life page or the new Pocket Pages so many people are making.
I've used images from the 'Hamlet PigWit Think Spring' digital set by From the Heart. the daffodil and polka dot digital papers are some I found for free online here. dies are by Spellbinders and Lawn Fawn, linen thread is by SU!, while everything else comes from my stash. lots of distressing here, too. oh yes, our little piggy friend was paper pieced with paper from My Mind's Eye Indie Chic collection.
I'll be back tomorrow with another project to share! :)
Challenges:

Quick Get Well Sketch Card
Hey, Everyone!
I'm back with another card to post. this is a quick card using a sketch for a challenge that is ending in just a few hours. hence, not only my 2nd post of the day, but also the fairly fast card.
I have been wanting to use this adorable image that I received for free from Judy over at Bluejeans, Coffee, and Friends. she is so kind to offer a free image each month if you just pop her an email to request it.
I knew I wanted to play with this cutey because it reminded me so much of myself when I was a little girl. my kitty cat and I were inseparable! she even went on trips with me, and I had a special basket on my bike so she could ride along. yep, we were THAT close!
You might remember that I have a friend who is going through some icky health stuff. I wanted to send another card to her, but I did want this one to fit in a regular mailing envelope. the majority of my cards are either hand delivered or go in padded mailers because of all the extra 'stuff' I add. I kept this one simple and flat so it could easily go through the mail. (crossing fingers anyhow!)
papers are from the Basic Grey Soleil collection and the dies are by Lawn Fawn. a little bit of SU! linen thread and dots with my white gel pen finish the card. because my friend LOVES purple, I created a 'ribbon' for the kitty to play with! :)
I do apologize for the icky poo photo. I was in a hurry and took it with my phone.

Blooming Happiness and Happy Mother's Day!
Coffee of the Day - Irish Creme
Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms, aunts, grandmas, and greats living here in the States! whew.... that was quite the mouthful, wasn't it?!?!! and if you are one of the above living somewhere else in this big, wide world, well, happy day to you, too! :)
my card today overflows with goodies, so you might want to top off your coffee before you go any further.....
I used the adorable 'Apple Blossom Birds' image by From the Heart stamps. it is the May stamp for the monthly progressive challenge. I actually printed it 3 times so that I could layer the images.
papers are Basic Grey Tea Garden (LOVE this new collection!!!), flowers are Petaloo and Wild Orchid Crafts, dies are Spellbinders (main image with mat) and Tim Holtz (polka dot flourish). crochet trim is Maya Road, I think, buttons are from stash, and flowers on the main image have distress stickles in the centers.
I did a bit of re-purposing here - first using the air mail sticker and then with the card in the lower right hand corner. it is actually packaging from Prima flowers. I distressed it with some sandpaper and then roughed up the edges. this is also a great way to get ink to adhere to slick surfaces while giving a shabby look. (tip!!)
I also played with frantage embossing powder for the first time ever. gosh, is that stuff cool! I know I'll be using it a lot more, especially the little bit of pink I have. tee hee!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope to get to everyone's blogs in the upcoming week. seizures are still going gangbusters, but I am going to come by to say hello if I can. :)
Challenges:
From the Heart - sketch #108 with a twist of lots of layers (actually did both. if you look closely you will see that I followed the sketch)
From the Heart - progressive monthly challenge
Rosey Hearts - things with wings
Dragonfly Dreams - how does your garden grow?
Crafty Calendar - things with wings
Di's Digi Designs - load on the flowers
Just Us Girls - embossing (frantage)
Sweet Stampin' - spring flowers
Brown Sugar - layers (over 10!)
Chocolate, Coffee, & Cards - spring has sprung
Fussy and Fancy - lots of flowers
Quick Quotes - add a flower or butterfly
As You Like It - fave: land or sea? land because I need my trees! I've lived by the ocean and as much as I love the waves (I made it a point to drive by the water every day for the 10 years we lived there), I really really really need my trees. and my little critters. and the beautiful birds......
Little Miss Muffet - many layers (over 10!)
Inky Impressions - embellishments (buttons)
Simon Says Wed Ch - let's get sentimental
Whimsy - color an image
Deep Ocean - flowers
QKR - nature
Top Tip Tues - duo (not only do I have a pair of birds, but birds & branches go together! my tip is above about using sandpaper on slick paper surfaces)
Crafty Boots - things with wings
Mema's - anything goes
Stamp and Create - May flowers
Crafting Musketeers - use a die cut (Spellbinders & Tim Holtz)
Creatalicious - embossing (frantage)
Emerald Faeries - flowers for Mom
Lia Stampz - embossing (frantage)
V's Sweet Ideas - emboss it (frantage)
Pile it On - cute animal
Come and Get It - got flowers
Robyn's Fetish - lots of layers (over 10!)
Sentimental Sundays - Happy Mother's Day or really girly
Sparkle and Sprinkle - anything goes with loose glitter, flocking, or embossing powder (frantage)
whoa nelly - I think that is a record for me! just like the record I broke with the number of layers on this card! :)

Retired and Going Golfing
Coffee of the Day - Spiced Caramel Nut
no, not to worry. I am not retired, and more importantly, I am not going golfing. ;) it has been ages since I was last swinging clubs - since I was pregnant with Tyler actually. yes, it's been THAT long! I used to golf every week with hubster and some friends, but again, that was another lifetime.
David, on the other hand, went just last week. he is truly a wonder to behold on the golf course. there are days that I miss those years of him being a golf pro. he is not only an amazing golfer, but patient and fun to watch. he has such a smooth golf swing and can hit it so very far! yes, I am proud of my hubby! :)
anyhow, my card today is for a very dear friend of ours who retired a month ago. yep, I'm late with my card. I need to make several for him, so you'll be seeing more retirement cards in the coming month. (hopefully! eek!) He and Dave work together in the Church District office.
the golf image is from Crafty Secrets and is part of the 'Golf Time' digital set. I also printed out then fussy cut the individual golf bag from this same set. it is adhered to the inside of the card. sorry I didn't take a photo. retirement sentiment is from Create with TLC. papers are from the Basic Grey Boxer collection, washi tapes & buttons are from my stash, and linen thread is by SU!. golf tee may or may not have come from hubby's golf bag..... la la la la la! card base was sprayed with 2 shades of glimmer mist. hey, gotta do something to help frou frou up these masculine cards!
I will actually be back tomorrow with another card, believe it or not! thank you so much for the kind thoughts and prayers about my health. still having seizures, but so happy to be able to craft these past 2 days.
love ya! :)
Challenges:
Crafty Secrets - monthly linky party
Hiding in My Craft Room - use those scraps (both pieces of BG paper are scraps)
Sister Act - any card goes
The Stamping Boutique - die cut or punch (SU! punch for sentiment)
Penny's Paper Crafty - anything goes
WAW - anything encouraging goes
Papertake Weekly - anything goes
TTCRD - anything goes
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Card and Scrap - male cards
Crafts Galore Encore - anything goes

Sorry
Coffee of the Day - Buttered Rum
so sorry I haven't been around much. my seizures started up again over the weekend and have been going gangbusters. :( most of my time has been spent in bed, as the computer really hurts my head and makes them much worse.
sadly, no crafting is being done. was happy just to get a shower today, but that completely wore me out.
one blog candy package has been mailed, and the other one should go out tomorrow. a few of you had a bit of a surprise in your emails, I do believe. thank the random mr. froggy for choosing you! grins! :)
hope to be back soon and get around to all of your wonderful blogs! much love to all of you! Jennifer
