A Different Kind of Cupid for Valentine's Day

Coffee of the Day - Bourbon Pecan

When we think of Cupid we often think of the little nearly naked baby angel flittering through the air. but when I came across this wonderful digital image of a young boy dressed in a vintage style as Cupid, I knew I had to have him! in fact, hubby even stopped what he was doing when he saw the card on my computer to comment about how much he liked the vintage look.

and thanks to the Paper Temptress store, you can get the papers to make a card for YOUR sweetie, too! :) I started with a base of spirit red feltweave cs. a little banner was punched from black Basis cs and then a sentiment generated from my label maker added over the top. I tied a ribbon of the poppy red splitz ribbon to a fun red & white paper clip. this ribbon is cool because it is both satin and grosgrain all on one ribbon. the color was a little too bright orangey-red for my papers, so I dyed it to match by just adding some ink. super easy! :)

Boy Cupid image is by A Day for Daisies, papers are from the Basic Grey Bittersweet collection, die is Spellbinders, and buttons are vintage. I love how the one even has a bit of fabric still attached to it. :) I added some faux stitching to the decorative paper panels. paper clip is by K & Co., I believe.

I gave the little fella some cool stripes to his pants and painted his wings with my wink of stell pen. the hearts on his bow and hat were painted with shimmerz.

so glad you stopped by today! hello to my newest followers, too! :)

So Adorable Ballerina

Coffee of the Day - Coconut Caramel Hazelnut Rum (well, it IS Saturday, afterall!)

My card share for today is a very precious one to me. you see it was made for a magazine submission, but was returned at the last minute because it was not needed afterall. I try to make all of my cards special, but the magazine ones get LOTS of extra attention and love. I have to take note of every detail, description, and item I use, so it just stands that there is a bit more focus on them. plus, gosh, a ton more people are going to see them! ;)

I have a most adorable young lady in mind that this is being mailed to, so I hope she enjoys it. :)

The image is from A Day for Daisies, papers & elements are from the Basic Grey Fresh Cut collection (most are printed from digital), flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts, chalk tag is My Mind's Eye, glassine bag is K & Co, ribbon is May Arts, and baby button card is from my vintage stash. other buttons are also vintage, and doily is from my stash, too.

main die is Spellbinders, tiny leaf flourish dies are Cheery Lynn, while gorgeous floral corner die is Wild Rose Studio. accents to flowers on main image with stickles and her tutu with clear wink of stella glitter pen.

I'm still dealing with my seizures, so getting to all of your blogs has not been easy. I am so very sorry. hope to get better at leaving comments and stopping by as soon as possible. I do think of each of you often, I promise! :)

Hope your weekend is off to a splendid start so far!

Oh Boy, Cowboy!

Coffee of the Day - Pumpkin Spice

I took a break from working on my MANY behind the scenes projects to make this cutey little ride 'em cowboy! I just found a new digital artist called 'A Random Fan.' she has such fun images and a Facebook page, too. You can buy her images in the Etsy store.

Sherry offered a free image and challenge for anyone who would make something with it. well, as usual, I am sneaking in by the seat of my pants. only a few hours remain, but I really really wanted to play along. so my card is pretty simple, but I think it will make some boy happy. :)

The papers are Basic Grey Fact collection, barbed wire and country charms dies are from My Favorite Things, linen thread is SU!, and buttons are from my stash. 'boy' sentiment is from a stamp set by Kellie Winnell, 'oh' comes from a K & Co. Smash stamp. nothing fancy, but the image is just so dad gum cute!

take care and see you soon! :)

I'm also working on some super secret behind the scenes super-hero stuff that I can't show you until next month, but I hope it will knock those socks right off of ya!

ABC Christmas Challenges has a new challenge this week of 'O Christmas Tree'. Our sponsor is the always cute Bugaboo Stamps. please stop by the ABC Christmas challenge blog to see the amazing projects created by my teamies. they always come up with so many gorgeous and inspiring things!

my card uses the cutie image 'Christmas Cupcake - lights' by Bugaboo.  papers are Basic Grey Aspen Frost as is the fun flair badge. roses are Prima, fun paper clip is K & Co., and the charm comes from Stamp & Create. on the cupcake, the stars were painted with shimmerz and the lights were coated with crystal effects. some itty bitter rhinestones were also added. the card base was sprayed with Studio Calico Mr. Huey's mist. gosh, I so love that stuff for holiday/winter cards! oh yes, the sentiment is a stamp from PTI that seemed so perfect for this image. :)

Happy Mother's Day and Pile it On challenge.....

Coffee of the Day - Salted Caramel Hazelnut

Happy Mother's Day and/or Happy Sunday! :)

All of my guys are off at work, so it's a quiet crafty day for me and the dogs. We have new babies that were born a few days ago on our front porch, so I'll show photos to you in a few days. We're the proud foster family of little robins! it's just so wonderful to watch these birds, so peaceful.

well, onto my card for today. The new challenge at Pile it On is to create a card for a teenager. I have several that need to get done for upcoming graduations, but as soon as I saw this image from our sponsor, Simply Betty, I knew I HAD to have it. ;) it's called 'Mad Scientist Christian,' and he is one of my very favorites from Simply Betty. guess you aren't too surprised knowing how nerdy my family is! grins!

I used a selection of papers from the Basic Grey Fact collection, some washi tapes, a K & Co. painted paper clip, metal tag, SU! linen thread, and some buttons to create this card. the green splatters were accented with a green glitter pen. Lots of distressing here.....
I absolutely love the quotes I have found from Albert Einstein. it seems that he would have been quite a remarkable man to know. Most people don't know that he was also a man of faith. it just goes to show that science and a belief in God CAN go together.  :)

Several Cards - Finally!

Coffee of the Day - Santa's White Christmas (yep, it's been one of those weeks. our holidays are all mixed up!)

I finally have a few cards to show you. this has been one of those turned upside down and inside out kinds of weeks. the guys have been home for Spring Break, but we've hardly seen them. Tyler and Mick have started  new jobs at the same restaurant in Kent, so they've been driving back & forth all week for training. the restaurant opens on Monday.

as I had posted earlier, our water heater went kaput the first part of the week. David spent a few days trying to track down a proper replacement and then install a new one. because we live in a Century home, not just any hot water heater will work in our basement. it's hard to find one that will fit, and of course they don't come on the cheap end.... then yesterday as Tyler was driving to work, his car started to act funny. it's about an hour drive to Kent from here, so he stayed on the phone with Dave pretty much the entire time. Mick had been staying with his girlfriend's family for several days because he is singing at their church Easter morning. (He was going into work during the day and then going over to the church in the evening for rehearsals.) So David drove over to Kent to work on Tyler's car yesterday morning and ended up spending all day there.

When Mick arrived, everyone discovered that he was super sick with a nasty flu/cold. So he was sent home to recuperate. I immediately mixed up a tea brew in preparation for him, and he's been in bed ever since. whew.....hopefully Mick will feel well enough to make it to church tomorrow to sing. we've all been invited to Jocelyn's family Easter dinner afterward, then the guys head back to school. :(

now for the cards after you have sat through the boring life stuff! ;)

the first card I actually made a while back and then forgot to post! everything today is courtesy of Create with TLC or Baubles by Bri.

papers are K & Co. Julianne, images are Create with TLC sprayed with walnut ink after printing,  flower is a gorgey one by Prima, buttons are vintage, ribbon is May Arts, tiny file folder is from JoAnn's. I used my beloved tiny attacher from Tim Holtz and lavel maker and finished it all off with a little metal clip.

A new Paper a la Mode challenge begins today at The Outlawz, so this is my DT submission to hopefully inspire everyone!

next card is for my best friend and her family. they have been going through a lot lately, and I wanted her to know I've been thinking about her. even though we text all the time, it's nice to get a reminder in the mail. sentiment is Create with TLC, image is Baubles by Bri, papers are Melissa Frances Attic Treasures, buttons are vintage, as are the seam tape ribbon & lace trim. the tag was sprayed with both Clam Bake & Coffee Shop glimmer mist. several washi tapes were added and then a tiny arrangement of some flowers that seemed to match the ones in the main image were added near the largest button. I added dots to the flower stems on the main image with my white gel pen to mimic the ones in the little flowers.

a publication update for you - I have several cards being published in a UK magazine next month. I'll give you more information as soon as I get it. another card will be published in an online magazine in a few months. yep, I'm excited! :)

I'm working on my May Arts spring challenge project in my spare time. have a few extra ribbons I ordered coming in over the next few days. hope that what I plan turns out to be a neat project! I've been picking up little pieces here, there, and everywhere, so you never know what is going to show up on this! tee hee! the competition is very fierce, so I'm trying to bring my A+++++++ game to the ring. yikes!

Hope You Can Cling To - Peaceful Pink...blog candy, too!

Coffee of the Day - Salted Caramel White Mocha

Today is the big day for me - the day I am so very honored to be a Hostess over at Split Coast Stampers for Hope You Can Cling To!!!! I truly hope you will join me and the other hostesses in creating cards to send to breast cancer warriors at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas. As I have mentioned before, I have participated in this card drive ever year since it started. To be asked to play along as a Hostess is such a thrill! :)  So many amazing companies and individuals have donated prizes. Please consider making a card or several to send along. if you bear with me, you might even find a bit of blog candy at the end of this post....... ;)

The theme for my challenge is called 'Peaceful Pink'. many of you know that pink is one of my most fave colors, especially in crafting. when I was told that I had breast cancer, one of my first thoughts was, "well at least I got the pink one and not a yucky pea green one!" my oncology nurse just thought that was hysterical! :-D  But really, if you read my blog very often, you know that nature is very important to me, and has been even more so as I have been battling this dreaded disease. The birds singing brings me such comfort when the side effects of treatments get so horrible. I can sit and gaze out my window watching the squirrels and chipmunks play on my front porch for hours and my mind is brought to ease. So when I was asked to be a Hostess, I knew immediately that I wanted a challenge that could help bring a sense of peace to someone else who is fighting cancer. You can find more details about the challenge here in the HYCCT forums.

I chose the image for this card because while going through my own cancer battle, I have found great peace listening to the beautiful birds that sing outside my window. even when the chemo was at it's most horrible, I could listen to those birds, find comfort, and get through the next few minutes.

Image is from A Day for Daisies, papers are K & Co. Flora and Fauna, trim is Prima, buttons are vintage, leaf flourish die is Cheery Lynn. butterflies are covered in spun sugar distress stickles, flowers are accented with pink spica glitter pen, and water is covered in frost shimmer spray.

Even in the midst of winter, these bare trees are full of beauty. They remind me that while my hair is gone and my body is going through so many changes, spring DOES come again.....

the image is from A Day for Daisies, papers are Basic Grey Serendipity, sky was first watercolored and then sponged with SU! inks. snow on fence was painted with shimmer spray, as was the snow line among trees. button & seam tape are both vintage. seam tape was lightly sprayed with tea rose glimmer mist. chevrons accents were cut with a MFT die. rose is a Prima. after scanning this card I went back and added some rock candy distress stickles to the Prima rose for just a hint of sparkle.

Now for the blog candy....
I was a true Goober Queen and accidentally ordered 2 of these fun stamps from MFT - Fix-it Fred. So one of you will be the lucky winner to get not only this stamp, but also a roll of Prima Craftsman washi tape and bottle of Peeled Paint Distress Stain to go with it. I will also add a few other fun little goodies to the package. BUT you need to do a little something in order to qualify - please create a card for Hope You Can Cling To. it does NOT have to be for my challenge, but can be for any of the challenges going on all month. link your card from the SCS gallery or your post in the HYCCT forum so I'll know you have played along.

you do NOT have to be a follower of my blog to enter. but IF I reach 500 followers or more by the end of the month, I will add an ADDITIONAL blog candy for another winner. :)

I am adding another BIG candy for y'all - I bought this gorgeous Rosettes Big Pro die from Sizzix. Sadly the store I bought it from did NOT mention anywhere that it is ONLY for the BIG PRO machine, which I do not have and don't have the almost $400 to buy. IF you have one of these spunky machines and would like to have this beautiful die, please enter your info in the below Mr. blue froggy linky thingy. I would love to pass this cutie along. isn't is wonderful? there are some fab dies for the Big Pro, but I sure can't even imagine having an extra $400 in my lifetime that isn't going toward medical bills that seem to hit our mailbox on a daily basis.... sigh. anyhow, ONE of you can most certainly have this and I would be delighted! it's a value of $59.99!!!!!!
btw - this does need to be for USA residents only. the die is very heavy for shipping. sorry.

Winner(s) will be drawn on Nov. 1 and posted the next day. if you are not a member of SCS, you are more than welcome to send cards to me and I will put them in the card box at my Cancer Centers. just let me know in your post. Thank you so much! Jennifer

Calendar Girls Blog Hop with TLC!

Coffee of the Day - Butter Rum

You are here for a faboo stop on the Create with TLC Calendar Girls Blog Tour! woooo hooooo! You know I have coffee, so grab a cup and rest a bit. Haven't the projects so far been fantastic?! whoa nelly! :) and Paulette is a dream to offer so many wonderful freebies for ALL of us to enjoy!

to save the free calendar pages on my blog, please -----> right click on the piccy from my blog. then you can save directly to your compy or flash drive. easy peasy pumpkin pie! :)

First we are visiting the patriotic month of July, at least here in the USA. I love my country soooooo much and am proud as punch to be an American! I added this fun vintage pair of boys with the flag images, also from Paulette and TLC, right over my calendar page. this is so simple to do with digis and PNG files. senti comes from TLC as well.

papers are K & Co. Americana, main image was sponged with sahara sand ink and then sprayed with coffee glimmer mist for a bit of shine. stars were accented with my white gel pen. the white star was punched from a piece of corrogated cardboard packing from tacos the other night. it was too wonderful to throw out! grins! denim belt loops came from some boy's pair of jeans before tossing - they go through them like wild fire around here, so I have a BUNCH of belt loops for projects! blue jeans and the USA just go together, imo! ;)

Next we come to November, time for one of my fave ever holidays - Thanksgiving. again I added additional PNG images from Create with TLC, re-sizing them and moving them around over the calendar until I was happy with the look. then I hit 'print' and ta da!

papers are Basic Grey Indian Summer, glitter leaf is Making Memories (my last one... boo hoo!!!), buttons are vintage, and trim is from JoAnn's, I believe. senti also comes from Paulette and is one of my all time faves. I use it quite a bit, especially for Thanksgiving cards. the calendar was sprayed with several shades of glimmer mist for a mutl-color shine.

now refill your coffee cup and head over to ---> Marsha's blog, Stamping Down South, for some more amazing inspiration! thanks for stopping by! :)

Tree of Mine

Coffee of the Day - Coconut Macadamia Nut

Happy Wednesday to ya! the sun is shining so lovely in the sky here and it is truly a beautiful day. I hope you find something in your day to bring you joy!

I want to share with you my last card using images from the A Day for Daisies October Club Kit. the term for this fun DT has ended and I had such a wonderful time with the ladies at ADFD. everyone was so kind and supportive of each other. that makes such a difference in a DT, let me tell ya! ;) and Tammy has such a beauty in her artwork, it truly touches my heart.

I used the image called, 'Tree of Mine'. papers are K & Co. Flora and Fauna. the beautiful medallion is Webster's Pages, buttons are vintage, seam tape and flower are sprayed with frost spray for some sparkle and shine, and little flowers on main image are painted with shimmerz.

yesterday David and I went to visit Tyler down in Akron and help him out with some stuff for his car. we stopped by my fave little antique store down there, and I picked up some goodies for my blog candy giveaway. I think you are going to like what I chose for some lucky winner or 2! and yes, there will be coffee in the prize package! :)

Beautiful Scripture at Paper Cupcakes

Coffee of the Day - Pumpkin Spice

Sorry this post and the next one are so late. I have been really sick since the beginning of the weekend. blechy blech blech! just getting up to being on the internet.....

This week Sonia Riveria brings us our challenge at Paper Cupcakes. She would like for us to be inspired by a Bible Verse and include it on your card (including the name of the verse).

You do not need to use one of our digital images to play along, but of course we would love to see a Paper Cupcakes image used. Please note: Everyone that uses a Paper Cupcake's image will be entered into the drawing twice to win.

For my card I used the image, 'My cup of Tea'. I really love this digi! :) the scripture senti come from Dee's Bugaboo Boutique. she has the most amazing scriptures on her site, all for free! I've used quite a few of them on projects. the papers here come from K & Co. Wild Raspberry. yellow trim and flower are Prima. flower buttons are SU! & the other is from my vintage stash. of course I had to add a tea tag to the card! little accents were painted with my pink shimmerz.

The day is overflowing with Daisies ;)

Coffee of the Day - Pumpkin Spice

Today I have several cards using images from A Day for Daisies to show you, so be prepared to be wowed by daisy overload! ;)

The first card uses this precious bunny from the September Club Kit, "Flowers for Mrs." the papers are Daisy D's..... sigh..... okay, won't talk about how much I miss that company AGAIN! I wanted this little guy to have a shabby country feel. I distressed the Prima flower with inks and water to help add to the feel. buttons are from my vintage stash and an old shirt of David's... shhhhh! there is just a touch of shimmerz paint on the flowers of the main image for a bit of shine.

My next card is a sneaky peek from the new October Club Kit, using this beautiful image, "Happy Tree." I so love these nature images from Tammy! paper is from K & Co. Flora and Fauna collection. buttons are from my vintage stash. the only bit of sparkle is on all things pink! ;) I know you aren't the least bit surprised by that! grins! I added little touches of stickles to the pink flowers on the main image as well as the pretty little pink rose. the senti is from Create with TLC.

the coloring on this was inspired by a recent drive around my community. I saw these wonderful yellow birds playing near the mailbox at Camp. I really need to find out what they were, because they were so pretty! as the leaves on the trees are turning such beautiful colors, some gorgeous wildflowers are appearing as well. spots of purple appear everywhere with the most delightful spikes of lavender flowers in the fields. again, I need to do some investigating to discover what these are. the colors of fall in Ohio are a sight to behold!!!

I have always been a crafter. I enjoy making fun, silly, sassy handmade cards, scrapbook pages, and fun art projects for my friends and family to give as gifts. Creative Clear Stamps started as a solution to my own stamping needs. I had searched the web looking for fun themed stamp sets, but few portrayed my personality, sense of humor, and special interests. In 2004 I went back to school, and earned a degree in Graphic Design and Desktop Publishing (one of the best things I have ever done for myself ). I worked as a freelance graphic designer under the name Creative Vision for a few years before I decided to start my own line of clear stamps. In early 2008, after many hours behind the computer and away from my craft room, the very first stamp sets were born.
I am very excited to finally be able to share my creative vision with you! Inside my store you will find unique themed stamp sets not found anywhere else. My creative stamps are sure to inspire your scrap booking and card making creativity. All of the stamps are made in the USA from a premium photopolymer, which is similar to acrylic only higher in quality and will make a wonderful addition to your current rubber stamping supplies.

One winner will receive a Creative Vision Clear Stamp set!

Thanks so much to our fabulous sponsors for letting the Party Planners showcase your products!

for my card I used both a digital stamp from The Paper Shelter and a clear sentiment stamp from Creative Vision. the yummy sundae digi was printed onto K & Co. designer paper and then cut with a SU! die. cherries were covered with a lght coating of crystal effects & sprinkles were made with a pink glitter gel pen. this senti from Creative Vision makes me laugh each time I see it. what better thing to make you lose your grip on reality than a stack of sundaes!?!?! button is from my vintage stash and baby roses are Prima. the doily seemed the perfect touch with all of those delish sundaes!

hope you play along in the challenge with us! can't wait to see what you make! :)

A Day for Daisies Club Kit DT!

It is with MUCH EXCITEMENT that I announce to y'all that I am a happy happy member of the brand spankin' new A Day for Daisies Club Kit Design Team! boy howdy, you coulda knocked me over with a feather when I received the email asking me to join! I have loved ADFD from the very first day I bought one of Tammy's images. I remember the first card I made, and the tears pouring down my face as I thought of Mick graduating from HS while I made it. Tammy's images truly touch my heart. I was honored to serve on her first DT, so this is a special privilege for me.

For my card, I used this precious image, The Perfect Gift. I have a feeling Mick will snag it to give to his wonderful girlfriend since I intentionally made it with her fave colors! ;) fairy wings are painted with shimmerz, since all fairy wings have a special sparkle! papers are K & Co. Flora & Fauna and have been sprayed with walnut gold glimmer mist. senti is from Create with TLC and has been sprayed with same walnut gold glimmer mist. rose is from SU!, buttons are from my vintage stash.

I do hope you will stop by the blog to see the gorgeous creations by my fellow teamies. they are so talented and I am thrilled to bits to serve with them! today is Friday which also means new releases! I know you will want to take a look at those cuties and the amazing projects created by the DT! :) thank you for sharing this excitement with me.

New Releases and a New Challenge at Jellypark Friends!

Coffee of the Day - Pumpkin Spice!!! yum, yum! :)

Today marks a new challenge as well as new releases over at Jellypark Friends! this is always exciting, as Claire draws just the cutest digis! I actually have 2 cards to show you, so let's get started....

My first card uses one of the new images, Space Rocket. paper is from an old K & Co. collection called Kazoo Kids. I love the retro/vintage feel to these papers and they were just perfect for this wonderful boy in his rocket ship! All of the little screws were dotted with a spica glitter pen & his helmet was covered in crystal effects to add a bit more dimension. the senti is a SU! rub-on. I thought the brads were fun and helped go along with the look of the screws.

For my next card, I chose to use an older image of Claire's, but am submitting it for the challenge - 'Pass it On'. (actually both cards are for the challenge) what we are asking everyone to do for the challenge is to create any kind of papercraft project that you will give to someone and then actually do it. it could be a gift bag, tag for a basket, card for a fundraiser, just something that you are going to give to another person. My card is actually for our oldest son's 21st birthday which is coming up in a few days. He has always been called a 'modern day knight' so this image was absolutely perfect for his birthday! The card has a bit of an old world feel to it, thanks in part to the papers, called Castle Tapestry. love the Celtic look to them! I wouldn't normally put lace and a big Prima on a card for Tyler, but with the regal feel to this card, I thought it worked. the metal castle charm was distressed with staz-on to take away a bit of the brightness. the senti is a bit hard to see, but it is a SU! rub-on as well. the card is legal size.

I look forward to seeing your creations for this fun challenge! and we welcome Sara Moreno as a guest Designer this month! please stop by her blog and give her a big Jellypark Friends welcome! :)

Tea and Cake with Jellypark - sound good?

Coffee of the Day - Maple Vanilla

Today starts both a new challenge and new releases over at Jellypark. I was so excited to make this card because the challenge is to use die cuts and/or punches. I knew when I saw this cute little tea and cake ticket that it would be great to pull out my fun die cuts and go to town! I may have gone overboard, but hey, it's pink & fun!

I used papers from the K & Co. Wild Raspberry collection. the house and ticket are edged in pink stickles. the teacup & picket fence die cuts are from PTI, clouds & grass die cuts from MFT. the heart is a punch by EK Success. stickles was also used to accent the cupcake & headband on the ticket as well as the prima flower centers.

Please be sure to stop by the challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT has created. I can guarantee you will be soooooooooo inspired! also, starting next month, Jellypark Friends will welcome Guest Designer, Sara Moreno!

Pink Saturday - thank you, Beverly, for doing this each week! :) can you tell I love pink?!
Paper Shelter - die cuts and punches
Karen's Doodles - punch it out
Glitter Geeks - all around the world (being from the States, I so love the idea of having tea & cakes like is written on the ticket every day... went to school at Oxford for a summer and would jump all over the chance to go back)
Through the Craft Room Door - punches with a twist
