Adorable Valentine Critters

Coffee/Tea of the Day - Caramel Vanilla coffee
Top Pick at Crafty Animals
Top Pick at SUYP

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!

Today I'm sharing the cards I sent to each of our grandchildren. again, simple so they could be easily mailed, but oh, so cute!

The images all come from the Valentine Quirky Animals digital set by the Pixel Petite Etsy shop. I'm super impressed with everything I have purchased from this store. it all prints out beautifully, which doesn't always happen with digis.

Doilies, tickets, and postage stamps embellish the cards. the sentiment is from a Tim Holtz stamp set.

I've also used a wink of Stella glitter pen to add accents on each image. I don't think they show up well in the photos though.

have a most fantastic weekend, knowing how very loved you are! :)

Vintage Romantic Valentine

Winner at Gecko Galz

Hello again!

The card I'm sharing this afternoon is the Valentine I sent to Tyler and his wife. (I'm so very blessed to have such amazing sons and daughters-in-law!)

The image is from Gecko Galz and was a freebie on their blog this month. I just love the vintage feel to it! Papers are from Carta Bella and Stamperia. the beautiful lace seemed the perfect addition, especially with the pink doily.. a pretty rose sticker is along the side. again, doing what I can to make nice, but flat, cards for easy mailing.

I hope you have an amazing weekend!

Coffee/Tea of the Day - coconut hazelnut coffee

Oh boy, it's Friday the 13th. may it be so very uneventful for you! :D

My Valentine card today is for our son Mick and his wife. I'm using several images from the Gecko Galz collage set "Be My Valentine." you can find so many digitals in their Etsy store. I've noticed that items change quite frequently, so if you see something that interests you, pick it up quick. this set is no longer available,

I hand cut the little road that the cutie couple is traveling on as well as the clouds.. the flowers and sentiment are from another image in the set. papers are from Stamperia and Echo Park. it's a simple card, but perfect for mailing because it's flat.

I'll be back later today with another Valentine card. see you then!

Romance on the Range

Coffee/Tea of the Day - Constant Comment tea

Hi there! I hope your week has been going well. :)

Today's card is for our son, Ryan, and his wife. they really like anything southwest themed, so this digital set from Gecko Galz was perfect. papers are from Pink Monarch Prints and Echo Park.  a little twine from Michael's finishes the card. you can find this digital sheet of images at the Gecko Galz Etsy store.

have a most amazing day!

Valentine ATC to Card

Coffee of the Day - Vanilla Hazelnut coffee
Winner at Gecko Galz ATC challenge

Hello! I hope everyone is doing well. :)

Today I am sharing several ATC cards that I made and then converted into full size cards for mailing.

Each month Gecko Galz has several challenges where they supply the images to be used. I am using the sheet provided for the ATC challenge. I used to make these every once in a while and really enjoyed it.

I didn't use the papers provided on the sheet because they printed so very dark. my printer doesn't always handle shades of red well. The bases are from 49 and Market. I've also added pieces of doilies to each ATC, because to me, every Valentine needs a doily. :)

the ATC cards were then turned into standard size cards for mailing using papers from Stamperia, Echo Park, and Pink Monarch Prints. various embellishments such as tickets, glittered tulle, postage stamps, and even part of a wine label complete the cards. I did use a wink of Stella glitter pen to accent several of the images.

I got such a kick out of the sentiments on this sheet because they immediately reminded me of my mother-in-law. Several times a week she boards a bus with her friends from the assisted living facility where she lives and they head to happy hour. They do so love their wine! :D I think she'll enjoy her Valentine!

have a most amazing day and thank you for stopping by! :)

Valentine Angel

Coffee of the Day - Pistachio Latte

Happy Tuesday to all of you!
This week, I'll be sharing some of the Valentine cards I've made for family.

me and my Aunt looking fab for 61 & 90!
October 2025

To begin, this is a card I have made for my precious aunt. She is such a dear, sweet person. David and I were able to visit her in Texas last October. She put together a huge family reunion since it had been almost 30 years since we had seen most of the family. It was amazing to see everyone again. Ryan, Elizabeth, and their baby, Benaiah, joined us for a week. pure joy! We were also able to visit my dad's gravesite, which meant so much to me.

The beautiful angel image was provided by Gecko Galz for their monthly card challenge. papers added are from Stamperia. a pink doily and piece of crochet trim complete the card. I was trying to keep the it as flat as possible for mailing.

I'm trying out a new tripod for my phone in hopes that the pictures are better. please bear with me as I learn to use it. ;)

Thank you for stopping by!

I'm Beary Lucky!

Coffee of the Day - Tiramisu

Happy Friday! I am back from a most amazing trip to Washington DC, Philadelphia, and then quick stop in Pittsburgh. whew..... I am one whooped puppy! ;)  so I have lots of crafting to do to get caught up on things. isn't that always the way it is when you go out of town?! ;)

I have used the cutie "Teddy Heart" image from Morgan's Art World on my card as well as a fun little bear template and then a sentiment by Create with TLC.  papers are from Michael's as is the gorgeous burlap and lace ribbon trim. satin ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

a few vintage buttons, doily, shabby bark heart, and pretty flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts complete the card. will soon put it in the mail for Valentine's Day, which is so very quickly approaching!

Tugging on Your Heart Strings with a Candy Bar! :)

Coffee of the Day - no idea because I am on a train to Washington DC for the Women's March as this posts !!!! :)

Hello and Happy Friday!  I am crossing my fingers that our friend, Blogger, does right by me and posts this as it is scheduled..... oh please, oh please, oh please! :)

I am headed to the Women's March and am so very excited! will tell all about it when I get back. but until then, I leave you with some fun for The Digi Bells blog hop. if you are hopping along, then you will have arrived here from LINDA's absolutely gorgeous blog. :) if at any point you ever get lost along the hop, just head over to The Digi Bell's blog for the complete list.

The cutey image we are all featuring is called "Heart Strings" and will soon be available in the store. I decided to make a cover for a candy bar and a matching card.

at Christmas the guys all received various Oreo cookie treats. Ryan happened to get this Oreo crunch bar, which was new on the market this year. it was a huge hit. well I received a text a few weeks letting me know that he had searched and searched all over the town where he goes to school looking for them, but couldn't find one anywhere. so I took to the internet in search of.... of course Mom came to the rescue!

I found a few for Ryan and also decided to decorate one for Tyler's fiance for Valentine's Day. she love love loves chocolate!

the red polka dot paper is from Michael's. the other papers are from the Prima Coquette digital collection. some vintage lace and buttons were used in addition to distressed seam binding from Zipper Stop. flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

a heart doily and cute little pearlized bauble add some fun touches.

now off you go to the beautiful blog of KARINA! thanks so much for stopping by! :)

I'll be back on the 25th with my project for Elisabeth Bell's challenge world! another fabulous image of hers will be used, and you know you don't want to miss that. ;)

Come Ride With Me Valentine

Top 3 DT fave at The Crafter's Cafe

Coffee of the Day - Chocolate Peppermint

Hey ribbon fans! I know you are going to look at this post and think, "gosh, Valentine's Day is over."  but I'll say right back at ya, "isn't it always time for LOVE?!" grins!

but really, wouldn't you know that when my youngest son came home for a surprise visit this past weekend, he also needed a Valentine's Day card for his girlfriend ASAP! ;) no matter how old our kids get, it's just like back in elementary school when they tell you on the drive to school that oh yes, they need 4 dozen cupcakes RIGHT NOW! ;)

so I got busy in my craft room. really busy. like, the glue might have still been a little itty bit wet when she came by to pick him up to drive him back to school! but it was finished and she liked it. whew.....

it's time like these that I am thankful for having a nice supply of ribbons & flowers from the RRR store and access to a place like Polly's Paper Studio, the Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge sponsor.

I was able to print out the Retro Valentine Card digital file, add some great mulberry flowers like the cottage rose, sweetheart blossoms, and other Wild Orchid Crafts roses to the Authentique Crush patterned papers and heart doily. some great saved snippets of the Sweetheart Striped grosgrain stapled to the upper corner are topped with a vintage button. Red burlap string tied around the card base adds the finishing touch. oh yes, I also used my SU! ink squirty tool on the vintage image.

easy peasy! the great thing is that this card design can be adapted for ANY holiday or occasion. give it a try! :)

thanks so much for stopping by! have a great day! :)

XOXO Puppy Love

It's almost Valentine's Day. are you ready with a sweet card for the loves in your life?

The card I'm sharing with all of you today was mailed off to one of my sons. Last year he rescued a wonderful dog from the pound, so it seems that almost every card I make for him has a dog on it. ;) but gosh, those 2 are inseparable! since it was going in the mail, I tried to keep embellishments to a minimum, which you know is fairly hard for me to do!

I started with a base of Paper Temptress Spirit Red Feltweave cs and distressed the edges with several shades of inks, one being Prima chalk ink, which I really love to use.

puppy image is from Dustin Pike and is accented with stickles and crystal effects, decorative papers are part of the Gnome Sweet Gnome collection, and embellishments include vintage buttons, wood veneer piece, and dog bone clip. I tied some of the fabby red twine around the card for a spot of color.  finally, a little banner punched from Desert Storm Kraft cs draws attention to the stamped sentiment. stamp is by My Favorite Things.

thanks for stopping by!

"14 Things I Love About You" Pocket Tags

Winner at Die Cut Divas

Coffee of the Day - Butterscotch

Hello, everyone!

I am here to share a special project with all of you today and on the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog. but there is a small catch - we have to keep this hush, hush quiet until Valentine's Day because my oldest son is giving this to his girlfriend! we don't want to ruin the surprise, now do we?! ;)

some of you might remember the Tag Advent Calendar I created for Christmas. this is similar, but the theme is "14 Things I Love About You!"  I took the photos before my son wrote on the tags. had to give the guy a BIT of privacy! grins!

you will see many ribbons and trims from the Really Reasonable Ribbon store. I'll share the complete list at the bottom of the post to make things easier.

to keep things as flat as possible, I only added flowers to the very first piece. doilies, washi tape, vintage buttons, die cuts from Sizzix, and various other little goodies decorate each pocket.

papers & some small tag elements are from the Authentique Crush collection, a few stickers are from SRM Stickers, number stickers are from Melissa Frances, digital numbers are from Miss Kate Cuttables, coffee cup die is from Simon Says Stamp. lots of stickles used! :) chipboard cupid is from Blue Fern and bark heart is from Live & Love Crafts. hard to see, but each tag is stamped with a beautiful cupid stamp by Deep Red Stamps. other various stamps used are by My Favorite Things and SU!

Ribbons and Trims:
Brenda white crochet lace
Sweetheart Stripe Grosgrain
Diamond Satin Mineral Ice
Lipstick Red Seam Binding
Sun Rose Seam Binding
Red Burlap String
Pink Burlap String

Mulberry Flowers:
Magnolia (watercolored just a bit to match pinks)
Aster Daisy

A Different Kind of Cupid for Valentine's Day

Coffee of the Day - Bourbon Pecan

When we think of Cupid we often think of the little nearly naked baby angel flittering through the air. but when I came across this wonderful digital image of a young boy dressed in a vintage style as Cupid, I knew I had to have him! in fact, hubby even stopped what he was doing when he saw the card on my computer to comment about how much he liked the vintage look.

and thanks to the Paper Temptress store, you can get the papers to make a card for YOUR sweetie, too! :) I started with a base of spirit red feltweave cs. a little banner was punched from black Basis cs and then a sentiment generated from my label maker added over the top. I tied a ribbon of the poppy red splitz ribbon to a fun red & white paper clip. this ribbon is cool because it is both satin and grosgrain all on one ribbon. the color was a little too bright orangey-red for my papers, so I dyed it to match by just adding some ink. super easy! :)

Boy Cupid image is by A Day for Daisies, papers are from the Basic Grey Bittersweet collection, die is Spellbinders, and buttons are vintage. I love how the one even has a bit of fabric still attached to it. :) I added some faux stitching to the decorative paper panels. paper clip is by K & Co., I believe.

I gave the little fella some cool stripes to his pants and painted his wings with my wink of stell pen. the hearts on his bow and hat were painted with shimmerz.

so glad you stopped by today! hello to my newest followers, too! :)

A Valentine for My Hunny Bunny

Coffee of the Day - Chocolate Peppermint

So have you started thinking about making Valentine's for your sweeties yet? I am the only girlie in a house filled with men, so as much as I would LOVE to make frilly, fussy, lacy, gorgeous Valentine's covered in doilies and such, there just aren't that many people I can give them to. my guys kinda frown on receiving them. ;) they tend to also like to receive the most simple cards, which goes against my grain, so I do my best to keep embellies to a minimum when I craft for them. but I can't make a card without ribbons! just not happening!

that is when I pull out my natural fibers and trims for their cards. I'll still add a flower or two, because guys still like flowers, just usually not a whole card full of them.

it's time to get creative with your ribbon choices on those masculine cards!

plaids, stripes, and polka dots are always great picks. I went for the simple, but always fashionable 2 1/2" cotton ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon as a base for my trim across the bottom of the card.  love the frayed edges to it! :) this was topped with the gorgeous 1/2" red wrinkled ribbon that has such a fabulous texture. it looks wonderful against that natural cotton ribbon.

a pretty carnation makes a simple accent. flowers similar to this one can be found in the RRR store. in fact, a brand new shipment of Wild Orchid Craft mulberry flowers has just arrived, so have fun filling up your shopping cart! there are some I can't wait to get my crafty hands on! :) click on the 'new' tab at the top of the page to see all of the fun new goodies!

and by the way, since I first started my blog, I have called my hubby my 'hunny bunny.' when I came across this stamp from Unity, I had to grab it!

bunny image is from A Day for Daisies, paper is from the Basic Grey True Love collection, dies are both by Spellbinders, and buttons are vintage. a bit of faux stitching was added to the heart.

thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Altered Vintage Valentine Bingo Card for RRR Blog Hop!

Coffee of the Day - Chocolate Peppermint

Hello to all of my fellow ribbon addicts! tee hee! I know there are secret (and not so secret!) ribbon hoarders out there who have a ribbon addiction like myself. well today is your day to swoon as the Really Reasonable Ribbon Design Team shares projects featuring the ribbon club kit for January on our monthly blog hop. :)

If you have come here by way of GINNY's gorgeous blog, then you are indeed in the right spot! grab a cuppa and settle in! :) if at any time you get lost during the blog hop, just head back over to the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog for the complete list of players.

Many of you know that I love to find vintage goodies for crafting while my hubby and I are out antiquing. we came across these fun old bingo cards a while back, and I knew immediately that they would make some neat projects.

wouldn't you know that I actually had an old bingo marker in my collection, too?! just had to add it on here. :) a beautiful old Valentine, dated 1921, steals the show. normally I would scan the vintage piece and then print out a copy rather than use the actual old card on a project - at least with something that old. but this project is being sent to someone very precious to me, so I was glad to put the real deal on here for her. :)  this has already been mailed to my dear cousin, so she will be quite surprised when she receives it in the mail. :)

papers are from the Authentique Crush collection, chipboard cupid is by Blue Fern and was brushed with gold ink & gold spica glitter gel pen, rose flair button is from Pink Paislee, flourish die is Sizzix, banner die is SU!, sentiment stamp on banner is by MFT, buttons and button card are vintage, and doily is from my stash. all ribbons are from the monthly club kit with the exception of the little piece of Judy crochet trim, which is dyed with glimmer mist. Wild Orchid Crafts flowers were used: sweetheart blossoms, baby pink aster daisies (these are my new fave flower!! I love these precious little sweeties!), 2 tone pink large rosebuds, as well as hip rosebuds and lilies.

your next stop on the blog hop is to AMBER's  lovely blog. please be sure to tell her hello! :)

thanks so much for stopping by! :)

A Valentine Tussie Mussie

Coffee of the Day - Highlander's Grog (Butterscotch & Hazelnut - one of hubby's faves!)

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!

Have you seen the pretty pinks in the new January Club Kit over at Really Reasonable Ribbon yet? oh gosh, I almost squealed in delight when this gorgeous pack was released! you know I am a pink lover from the word 'GO"! :)

I needed to get started right away with Valentine gifts, as this one was heading off to college with my son when he goes back for the new semester. Girlfriends (as well as friends, family, neighbors, etc.!) expect handmade presents from this mom, as any of you who craft can understand. grins! I asked my son what he wanted me to make her, and a tussie mussie was his request. no, not in those words exactly..... he IS a guy afterall!

I used several of the ribbons available in the monthly ribbon club assortment, as well as white Wild Orchid Crafts magnolias and several sizes & colors of their roses.

papers are from the Authentique Crush collection, velvet leaves are by Prima (and quite old. not sure if they still sell them or not.) lots of touches with stickles, too. pretty dies by Sizzix and SU!

btw - if you ever want to see any of my photos in more detail, just click on the desired piccy. it will take you to a new window with a larger photograph. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to stop back by the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog in just a few day for our newest challenge. :)

Coffee of the Day - Chocolate Cherry Almond

Yesterday I was able to deliver Valentine goodies to Mick and Brutus. we picked up Tyler, who was between classes, and headed out for lunch. what a glorious time together!

again, sorry for the lousy card photo, but I am trying to get better - I promise!

LOVE the pix of Mick and Brutus!

image is from The Doodle Garden, digital papers are by Far Far Hill, burlap ribbon is May Arts. everything else is from my stash. dog was colored to look like Brutus, of course! lots of distressing on this one. also a touch of faux stitching.

Happy Valentine's Day to YOU, dear friend!

isn't that the cutest? they were made for each other! true Puppy Love! :)

Happy Valentine's Day, Deer! ;)

Coffee of the Day - French Vanilla

yes, why it HAS been ages since I last posted! I have still been doing a wee bit of crafty stuff, just haven't really had a way to get decent photos to upload to my blog. and y'all really don't want to know about my every day, hum drum life, so I save you the agony of those boring tidbits. that goes on Facebook! ha!

I am finding that I can get tolerable pix with the camera on my phone. if Dave is around, he actually takes pretty good ones since he doesn't have the 'shaky hands' problem I do.

so I will try to post some craft things a bit more often from here on out. :)
some will still be of sub-standard photo quality if I take them, so please be patient with me. thanks!

Today's card is going to one of my sons for Valentine's Day. I don't want to give away toooooo much info on the off chance he stops by. none of my family normally does, so I am not too worried. ;)

the deer image comes from A Day for Daisies. I needed it to be a buck rather than the fawn (which is how the image comes) so I could hang the heart sequins from the antlers. handy dandy antler die from Memory Box to the rescue! :)

papers are from the Basic Grey Persimmon collection, brown satin ribbon is May Arts, leaf sprig die is also Memory Box. buttons, heart doily, and ticket are from my stash. little heart stamp is from a MFT set that has been retired. (sorry)

Thanks so much for hanging in there with me.....it means a lot!

When I Gaze in Your Eyes....

Coffee of the Day - Salted Caramel with pecans

Happy Valentine's Day to you! even if you are not part of a 'couple', I want you to know that you are loved, truly. don't let this day make you feel 'less' than the most amazing wonderful person that you are! :)

I share with you the last of my Valentine cards - the one I made for my Hunny Bunny. He is most precious to  me, the love of my life. He is the reason my heart beats. when I saw this image from Tammy over at A Day for Daisies, I immediately knew I would use it for Dave's card. do you see how they complete each other? one is not more than the other, but they together make one, beautiful circle, full of love. and that love then overflows and spreads to others.

papers are Basic Grey True Love, die is from Spellbinders, sentiment sticker is SRM. shimmerz was painted over all of the hearts on the main image. everything else is from my stash.

I want to say thank you to each of you for stopping by. I wish you love. you are important to me. :)
