Coffee of the Day - Pumpkin Spice
I am sharing with you the first of my cards for Lauryn. if you aren't familiar with her story, you can check other posts in the past 2 weeks here on my blog, head to the Lots of Love for Lauryn card drive blog, or stop by the Fight on Little Lauryn Facebook page. (not to worry, I will have a card on Monday, the day of the blog hop, too!)
the image for my card was drawn by Tracey Malnofski of The Stamping Boutique. there are actually 2 images in the set, which is available for a donation to Lauryn's family. I used the Bible verse on the inside of the card.
the card is a gate fold, opening in the middle. the main image is adhered on the left with foam tape. papers are from the Basic Grey Serendipity collection. gorgeous die set is Spellbinders. stickles lightly cover the little flowers on the image, leaf flourish is by Cheery Lynn, and everything else is from my stash.
I am getting so excited for the big card drive on Monday! sure hope you can stop by! :)

Have Hope Mixed Media Owl
Coffee of the Day - Caramel Pecan
Today's Hope You Can Cling to Challenge is 'Mix It Up - Mixed Media.' While I have done this with other projects, I haven't really done it on a card so to speak. I knew I wanted to use this cute little owl from Tracey at The Stamping Boutique, but incorporating a digi on a mixed media card presents its own set of problems, especially when my printer at the time was on the fritz. rollers were messed up and nothing wider than about 5" would go through..... I was having to cut all of my cs before feeding it through.
as I mentioned before, life is pretty interesting at our house on a daily basis. ;)
the card base is sprayed with several shades of blue glimmer mists with The Crafter's Workshop mini fish scale stencil. 'have hope' is from the stamp set of the same name by My Favorite Things. the branches were cut from a Starbucks coffee cozy with a TH die. leaves were cut from Basic Grey Persimmon paper with a TH die. little baby flowers are Prima. I think the button is SU!. paint along the edges is white mixed with a few drops of baked brown sugar re-inker. I didn't have a tan acrylic paint, so I just made my own.
I also want to tell all of you thank you for your support as we have gone through the ups and downs of first thinking I was cancer free and then discovering I might not be. it means a lot to have all of you here with us. thank you!
Have a wonderful weekend! :)
Challenges:
Sister Act - anything goes
WAW - anything encouraging goes
Delightful Challenges - winged things
Craft Room - feathered friends
Cheerful Stamp Pad - stencil
Crafty Bloggers - anything goes
Ooh La La - things with wings
Path of Positivity - hope
Allsorts - treemendous

Zombies Need Pumpkin Spice Lattes!
Yesterday began a new challenge over at The Stamping Boutique - Halloween. while we don't really celebrate Halloween as such, you know I love me some zombies! So when I was looking through the store trying to figure out what I was going to do, I came across 'Zombie Girl with Tea.' perfect! only to me she looked to be needing her pumpkin spice latte fix..... I typed up a quick little sentiment on my compy and we were ready to go! :)
papers are from the Authentique Apothecary Emporium collection, cool pumpkins die is Cheery Lynn, flower is Prima, sparkly trim is Making Memories, and everything else is from my stash. the zipper across her mouth is accented with shimmerz paint.
btw - I have seen World War Z 4 times now... it is so amazing and gets me pumped up every time I see it. poor Dave gets more and more freaked each time he watches it. he likes the slow moving zombies of The Walking Dead much better. tee hee! :)

There's a Party Going On.... or there WAS! ;)
Coffee of the Day - Vanilla Macadamia Nut
Last night there was a fun party over at The Stamping Boutique Facebook page. I was only able to attend for the last 45 minutes, but had a great time! :) Not only were there several games, but also some neat papercraft challenges and a free image from the store given away. Challenges run until tomorrow, so you have some time to get a project made if you would like to play along. coolio prizes, which everyone loves!
I made a card for one of the challenges, which is just to make a party card using the free image. papers are from the Basic Grey Serendipity collection. I used my clear spica glitter gel pen to add lots of sparkly accents to the main image. the gorgeous flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts and was sprayed with glimmer mist to better match the colors. Have a great day! :)

WHERE - TSB Facebook Page
WHEN - tonight 8-10 PM EST
WHAT - challenges, chats, games, prizes and LOTS OF FUN!!!!

Christmas at The Stamping Boutique
here is my 2nd post for today in the game of catch up.....
The Stamping Boutique is back in action, both the store and the challenge blog! Tracey has been busy drawing some fun images for all of us. for the challenges, we're starting off with a Christmas theme so everyone can get a start on those holiday cards. you know me though, I like to make Christmas cards all year long! :)
I have used one of the new images, 'Nativity,' for my card. it is just so precious! my hubby really likes this one. :) papers are Basic Grey Aspen Frost, flower is Petaloo, dies are from MFT, leaf punches are Martha Stewart, and buttons & seam binding come from my stash. the doily was sprayed with 2 shades of glimmer mist. star and halo were painted with shimmerz. a piece of twine was added across the banner. some faux stitching with my white gel pen completes the card.
I intentionally masked a circle around the halo to draw attention to Baby Jesus. He should always be our focus, in my opinion. :)
thanks so much for stopping by! have a most wonderful day!

Imagine the Birthday Possibilities
Coffee of the Day - Texas Turtle (pecan, chocolate, & caramel)
Happy un-Birthday to you! or perhaps it IS your birthday, and if so, Happy Birthday to you! I always love the song "A Very Merry Un Birthday to You" from the Disney animated movie, 'Alice in Wonderland'. so this always comes to my mind when I make a birthday card without any one person in particular in mind..... yep, I'm crazy that way! ;)

The cute balloon image comes from The Stamping Boutique and papers are Basic Grey Cupcake. senti comes from Create with TLC. touches of shimmerz paint and spica glitter pen were added to main image. flower is a Prima.
So since it's your un-birthday, I think you should celebrate with a piece of cake! grins!
Charisma Cardz - birthday

It's all about the number 12
At the Stamping Boutique this week, it's all about the number 12! We are being challenged to either use the number 12 on our papercraft project or use EXACTLY 12 items on our project. well y'all know me to well to think that I could stop at only 12 things on any project I make, so I knew I would have to find some way to incorporate the number 12......

Create with TLC came to my rescue with this wonderful senti image from the Club Kit! wooo hooo! I used TSB's whimsical snowflake tree, which has long been one of my fave of Tracey's images, and these neat papers from Echo Park's Winter Park collection. I also used an old sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday. The snow on the ground was covered with distress rock candy stickles and the snowflakes on the tree painted with shimmerz. then the whole thing was sprayed first with blue glimmer mist and then Mr. Huey's white spray mist. this gives both a shine as well as the look of a snow blizzard. very cool irl! my family laughs at all of the little trinkets I save for my crafting, but I love the little re-purposed bread tag for the senti here. :) can you see how the open portion looks like a heart?! :)
I almost forgot the little glassine envie behind the main image..... it was stamped with snowflakes in the palest of blue. the was fun to use because you can still see the wonderful house paper through..... the little vintage millnery flower and snowflakes finish off the card. and baker's twine is always fun!

I want to share a card with you today that uses a cutie Smoochie image from The Stamping Boutique and wonderful senti from Paulette at Create with TLC that seemed to be made to go with it! :) you know I love these Smoochies and couldn't resist the opportunity to squeak one more card in here at the end of 2011.........

Since I am really really really wanting more snow to arrive, I thought it just seemed appropriate to use Wintertime Smoochie. Isn't she adorable? btw - all digis are on sale right now in the TSB store for 35% off, but you had best hurry!
Papers are Basic Grey Picadilly and let me tell you, boy does this card sparkle irl! between my spica glitter pen, sparkle shimmer spray, and shimmerz paint there is a whole lotta shine going on! I also tried some of the neat Mr. Huey's white spray paint that I had seen used on several blogs. this is going to appear on a LOT of projects coming soon because it is FUN FUN FUN to use! A dear friend sent me a wonderful gift package filled with craft goodies for Christmas, including these Fancy Pants buttons. love the color! believe it or not, I actually saved the ribbon from a gift one of my son's receieved for Christmas. he was so kind to ask me if I wanted it before he threw it away. I have trained them well! :) and it was the perfect size to add here! ta da! re-purposing at its best!
2 Sisters - winter colors ( red was added because cardinals live all around my house and come right up to the wreath on my front door. they love to play on my front porch, too. it wouldn't be winter without their beautiful reds and browns! blues & purples are on card, too, but they don't show as well in scan as the aqua.)
Crimbo Crackers - snowflakes
Aud Sentiments - anything goes
Charisma Cardz - anything goes
Crafty Ribbons - sketch (turned on its side)
DRS Designs - snowflakes
Cooking it Up with Katie - anything goes
Little Darlings - cold
Little Miss Muffet - anything goes
Digital Tuesday - Winter Wonderland

If you have hopped over from Christy's blog, then you are in the right place. If you just happened to stop by and would like to join our hop from the beginning, please go back to Christy’s blog and follow along for a chance to win some AMAZING blog candy along the way and PRIZES at the end.

Now on to my projects..... I have been busy making LOTS of things for holiday gifts this Christmas. the ones I'm sharing with you today were sent to my Secret Santa recipient, so I hope that by now she has received her box of goodies! :)

Up first is a fun candy treat box made using a gingerbread man cut from cardboard with a Sizzix die and the oh, so versatile Holly Berry digi. the gingerbread man was inked with craft and then stickles, ribbon, & buttons were added for decoration. the little box is filled with chocolate chip cookie dough bites since my Secret Santa loves choco chip cookies. I thought candy would be easier to mail. :) the paper is Basic Grey Figgy Pudding with a border punched and ribbon trim across the top. Cardboard is actually the flap of a box. wonderful way to repurpose! :)

My next project is a tea bag holder since my Secret Santa enjoys tea. I used to make a lot of these and had forgotten how much fun they are! paper is Fancy Pants Tradition. the 12x12 size is double sided, which is perfect for this project. I used the fun tea pot from the 'Tea Set' of 8 digis. Flower centers are painted with shimmerz, flower is a Prima. this is a great gift to add to all kinds of baskets, bags, or put in a card. and what a great way to use scraps of dsp!
now off you go to Rhonda's wonderful blog! I just know she is going to have something fabulous to share with you! :)
Challenges:
Fairy Tale - gift
Sweet 'n Sassy - tea for two
Charisma Cardz - no cards

Non-Traditional Christmas Colors at The Stamping Boutique
Coffee of the Day - Gingerbread
Happy Tuesday to ya! The Stamping Boutique has a new challenge to use non-traditional colors on a Christmas project. I had one of my fave digi characters, Princess Jennifer Latte, already printed out and ready to go, so wanted to play along with this fun paper from Crate Paper's Snow Day collection.

The wonderful senti comes from Create with TLC, the snow is made with stickles which was also used as an accent around the main image border, trim is some vintage seam lace I picked up at an antique store, and felt glitter snowflakes help to finish card. pretty simple, but a fun card that is going off to my Secret Santa recipient from over at the Crafter's Cafe.
Designed 2 Delight - let it snow
Joanna Sheen - Christmas Wishes
Craft Your Passion - anything goes plus glitter
Top Tip - let it snow
Incy Wincy - non traditional Christmas colors
Ooh La La - lots of sparkle
Whoopsi Daisy - snowflakes

Thanksgiving Challenge at The Stamping Boutique
Welcome to a new challenge over at The Stamping Boutique challenge blog! the theme for this go 'round is Thanksgiving. and being the rebel that I am, I am the only one who didn't use the cute Pilgrim images offered by Tracey in the store..... oh well. someone has to be the oddball..... guess that is always gonna be ME! grins!

for my card I used the fun Pumpkin Pie image. maybe it's because we spent last week baking pumpkins to freeze for later use. I am a pumpkin fanatic, as if you didn't know already!, and love to have pumpkin ready to use for waffles, scones, soup, or whatever, WHENever the fancy strikes! :)
senti comes from Create with TLC, papers are My Mind's Eye A Happy Heart, tag die is PTI, flowers are Prima, buttons are vintage. this poor card just about was the end of me, I tell ya. the embossing folder kept giving me fits. the glimmer mist that is on both the senti and masked on the main image did fine on my 'test squirt' but decided to get all globby when I actually started spraying the crucial parts. I'm almost out, so I guess that is the problem, but man, why does it happen when it matters?! ;) hence, the weird blobs on my card. boy, I have never been more happy to finally get one card finished in my life! whew..... but I'll be giving this to Jocelyn's family when they arrive for Thanksgiving. I hope they like it and can overlook my flaws.
well I have baked the cornbread for the dressing so far today, washed almost all of the bed linens as well as several loads of laundry, and made the most important part next to the mashed potatoes in the eyes of my sons - the Ranch Crackers! grins! so the list is slowly dwindling down.... but it is fun, too. Chris Tomlin is playing in the bg LOUD to keep me motivated and focused on what is important. :)
back with y'all later! hugs and love to each of you!
Di's Digis - fall colors
Bizzy Bec's - circles

Home of the Brave
Coffee of the Day - Maple Cream
Today is a challenge over at The Stamping Boutique that truly touches my heart.... it's called "Home of the Brave" and it's to honor our soldiers who have fought so bravely on our behalf. Veteran's Day is in just a few days here in the USA and Remembrance Day as well in Canada. no matter how you feel about war in general, it would be a shame to not show love and support to the thousands upon thousands of men & women who bravely put their lives on the line each and every day for our freedoms.

My card is just a little way to say 'thank you' for all they do. the star image comes from The Stamping Boutique, senti from Create with TLC, papers from K & Co. Americana. I used some old buttons from a pair of shorts about to be thrown out and sprayed papers with walnut gold glimmer mist. air mail baker's twine comes from Etsy. it's a simple card, but one filled with lots of love and gratitiude! :)

Grab a Cuppa, 'cause it's a long post.....
Coffee of the Day - Group Therapy (sent to me by Audrey - it's coffee for girlfriends! vanilla, hazelnut, chestnut, & cinnamon. oh gosh, it is tasty! thanks, Audrey!!!)
I'll give you just a moment to go get a topper on your coffee or tea, 'cause this post is gonna be loaded with lots of pix and stuff...... you might want to grab a cookie, too, to give you some energy! tee hee!
Last night over at The Crafter's Cafe, there was a wonderfully fun Digi Day Party. there were games, contests, freebie digi images, and challenges that started. and the chatting, oh my goodness, we talked about EVERYTHING! even zombies! giggles! yep, I started that one.... and it's been discovered you either like 'em or ya don't! all of you know which side of the line I fall on that one. bring 'em on, I say! I even revealed that I have a big zombie poster that hangs on the wall beside my craft table. my friend Paulette, from Create with TLC, has even started up her own group over there, so pop by if you get the chance. She is giving away freebies for every 25 people who join her group.
Anyhow, I have some projects to share for the challenges going on. All images are from The Stamping Boutique and sentis come from Paulette and TLC.

the first challenge was for sparkle and bling. So out came this precious new Smoochie image from Tracey. you are going to see a LOT of these images from me..... I am so in love with them! She is called, 'Blowing Kisses.' paper is My Mind's Eye, trim is from one of my fave Etsy stores, and there is a TON of shimmerz paint and glimmer mist on here. I turned the senti from Create with TLC into a tag, courtesy of a die from PTI.
Challenges:
Kaboodle Doodles - sassy girls
Corrosive Challenges - with a flourish
Crafty Purple Frog - sparkle
Whimsy - monochromatic

the next challenge is to create a gift package of some kind. I am an avid lurker of Mish W.'s blog and am always amazed at the neat things she does with tags and bags. I decided to give one a try myself. you'll see a bunch of these between now and Christmas, as they are both fun and easy to do! I stamped the music bg from A*Muse on the glassine bag, added the shipping tag and die cut tree, and this pretty holly sprig from Tracey. the tree was sprayed with sparkle shimmer spray. lace trim is vintage. little buttons highlight the tree as ornaments. this is the perfect size to fill with a few homemade cookies, candy, or as David wants me to learn to make soap, a nice thick slice of yummy homemade soap! :)
Challenges:
Little Claire's - Christmas
Stamp, Scrap, and Doodle Sat. - Wrap it Up

the last challenge is to create a project that features a treat - either an image or is actually a treat itself. I had to go with these precious little gingerbread men! again, I took a fun senti from TLC and turned it into tags with the PTI die. it's really easy to do! the gingerbread men were printed onto kraft paper, frosting was painted with white craft ink, and then the edges were outlined with stickles. btw - did you know the bottom of a bottle of stickles could blow out and explode all over the place?! ask me how I know........ and why there are random spots of glitter on these little fellas..... and why I now need to buy a new bottle of stickles! ;) flowers are Prima, papers are Fancy Pants Tradition.
Challenges:
I Dit it - Christmas/Winter
Paper Sundaes - rectangles
Moving Along with the Times - food and drink

my final project is a 'just because I love the Smoochies' card. This is 'Fashionista Smoochie' and the skyline image. senti is TLC again. papers are Basic Grey Olivia and Basic Manilla. the skyline was masked, sprayed with sparkle shimmer spray, and then the edges sponged. I wanted to highlight the city just a bit. grass is cut with a MFT die. little flowers are Prima. sun was made with punches and a Starbucks coffee sleeve. I always save those for fun projects!
Challenges:
Kaboodle Doodles - sassy girls
Quirky Crafts - attitude
2 Sisters - ribbon
Basic Grey - anything goes
Sarah Hurley - more than 2 images
Crafty Ribbons - bingo: ribbons, punches, flowers
thanks for hanging with me. I hope you enjoyed my projects today! :)

For Someone Special...
Coffee of the Day - Texas Turtle (caramel, pecan, and chocolate)
Hello everyone! I hope you are having a beautiful start to your day wherever you may be in this glorious big world! :)

There is a challenge going on over at The Stamping Boutique to create a card for someone special. Mick's girlfriend had a big job interview yesterday so I wanted to make her a card to let her know that I was thinking of her during this time. She and I share a big affection for all things princess and girly, so this cute "Fairy Princess Laundry Line" image from TSB seemed perfect. she loves purples and pinks, so of course that is what I used. papers are My Mind's Eye A Beautiful Life, wonderful felt flower is from Etsy, and chipboard tiara that I covered in stickles is Maya Road. LOTS of shimmerz paint on the main image, too.
Have a most amazing day! :)
Clear it Out - trim (can't even tell you how old this lace trim is.... eek!)
Cutie Pie - recipe (I hope my fairy outfit counts!)
Lollipop - no senti
By the Cute and Girly - anything goes
Allsorts - lavendar and lace
Cardmad Fairy - spots and stripes (on tights)
Charisma Cards - in stitches
Digi Doodles Shop Best - lavendar and lace
