Happy Birthday Mousies with Cuppie!
paper was first inked over with white craft ink. This causes the embossing to really pop. I then grabbed my wonderful mousies from House Mouse to go along with the 'Happy Birthday' message on the embossed cs. The cupcake icing is covered with a heavy coating of cotton candy stickles. The glitter flowers are another of the ones from Heidi Grace (like the ones I used on my spring HM butterfly kites card). The embossed piece is mounted on sahara sand cs to help accentuate the colors of everything else. All the pastels in the HM piece don't show up so well in the scan, but irl it's all pastel-y and soft! oh yes, the candle flame is painted with beeswax shimmerz.Monday, April 6, 2009
SCSBG2 Challenge Something Old, Something New Part 2
Just another card using the challenge of supplies both old and new. Same materials as the previous post for the most part, except for the BRAND SPANKIN' NEW Cuttlebee circle cutter that hubby bought me today for Easter!!!!! and it is PINK, PINK, PINK!!!!!! just like the one in the SU! catty, but such a gorgeous PINK!!!!! card also uses the way fun SU! set 'Cheep Talk'.SCSBG2 Challenge - Something Old, Something New
se something old and something new on your creation. you know you have those old beauties hiding in your closet somewhere just begging to be used again, or maybe for the first time ever! I am almost ashamed to say that I actually had to remove the plastic wrap from the ink pad of SU! Cool Carribean that I used on this card. yep, hangin' my head over that one! it is such a gorgeous color, but I had never ONCE opened it! and my poor Night of Navy hasn't been used in over a year on ANYTHING!!! it used to be one of all time fave 'go to' colors! what is up with THAT?!?! My something new is the stamp, Jewel Bird from Inkadinkado, and the papers, Addison line from K & Co. I guess you could say that the old could also be the lace since it is vintage! ;) Anyhow, as I was planning what to do for this challenge, I came to the realization that I have way toooooo many things that I haven't used recently the way that I should. guess that means I have to stamp more!!! :D
Had a great time at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday! They don't allow photos of any kind taken inside, so there is only this one from outside the building. It was soooo windy and only in the upper 30's, so it was colllllld. What a thrill to see so many cool pieces of memorabillia! Of course the Elvis stuff just blew me away! that and Bob Marley's shirt. go figure..... I'm a pretty eclectic person! Saturday, March 28, 2009
SCSBG2 Challenge Joshua 1:9
card for this week for the blogging group over at SplitCoast Stampers. The challenge was to use either a verse or quote on your creation. This verse from Joshua 1:9 is the life verse for both my husband, David, and my oldest son, Tyler. It also happens to be the theme verse for Camp Burton this summer. So I thought it would be perfect for a card to send to David to encourage him throughout the summer. The colors turned out a little funky in the scanner, so I do apologize for that.Monday, November 24, 2008
SCS Blogger Challenge - Holiday Sparkles Stick Chick & Blog Candy Winner!
Tea of the Evening - Orange Ginger Mint by The Republic of Tea
(it was cold and rainy tonight and a cuppa tea hit the spot!)
Here is my entry for the Split Coast Stampers Blogger Group 2 Sketch Challenge. Danielle drew up this amazing sketch last week (we have 2 weeks to complete each challenge). and wouldn't you know it - my stampin' mojo just up and disappeared tod
ay! I had the best intentions in my wonky head, but man oh man, it didn't transfer to my card AT ALL!!! so sorry, Charlie! I'll try again later if I can get the time because her sketch really is cool.My papers are from the phenom Basic Grey Wassail collection. Ribbons are May Arts and Stampin' Up! Way cool stamp is American Art Stamps stick chick "Big Ornament". The ornament is covered in crystal effects and the boot tops, dress ruffles, hat pom pom, ornament top, and boot jingle bells are all painted in shimmerz. Poinsettia dew drops are placed in the center of SU! felt snowflakes.
Our Blog Candy Winner for this time is Tiffany! Way to go! In case you wonder how I go about picking a winner - everyone is assigned a number and I ask my middle son to pick a number. (he is totally clueless as to why he is doing this by the way! grins!!!) he has done this twice now and has no idea that he has helped 2 lucky people win some great prizes! well, what do you expect from a teenage boy who has a certain girl and computer games on his mind?!!
Everyone stay warm and dry!

SCS Blogger Challenge - Unique Snowflake
different designer papers on any kind of creation. I actually used 5, as the large snowflake is stamped on one, too (and then covered in shimmerz). "Unique" is stamped in stazon on a piece of plastic wrapping that I found. Not too crazy about this card - perhaps it will grow on me! Stamps are from Cornish Heritage Farms - Joyeux Noel and Big Inspiration (my free set I received the other day!). Papers are Basic Grey Wassail and everything else (except bracket die cut - My Mind's Eye) is from Stampin' Up!

SCS Blogger Challenge - Polka Dot Thanksgiving
A very quick post today as I'm not feeling well. I think my nasty fall last week messed me up worse than I originally thought.
This card was don
e for the Split Coast Stampers Blogger Group 2 challenge - use polka dots and ribbon. Not as much ribbon as I usually use on a card, but I still think this is a cute stick chick! And in the midst of me making Christmas cards, I realized that I needed a few more Thanksgiving ones, too. The marigold morning cs was sponged with vanilla craft ink. The chipboard flower was sanded, as was the strip of dp along the side.Everyone have a wonderful day! AND MAKE SURE TO VOTE!!!
