Happy Kid Balloons

Coffee of the Day - Maple Fudge

Tuesdays mean new releases in the Bugaboo store, so it's a day for cuteness overload! pop over to the inspiration and challenge blog to see what myself and a few other designers have created with one of the fun new images!

**the watermark I've been given by Bugaboo is the little lady in the car.
it is NOT part of the card.**

I've used 'Kid Balloons' with Basic Grey RSVP papers, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, a fun wood veneer sentiment from Michael's, vintage buttons, cream seam binding (distressed) & foxglove hand dyed silk ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon, and a re-purposed Starbuck's coffee cozy that was inked. I thought it made the perfect back drop! :)

my MIL is here visiting from Texas until tomorrow. we are having such a great time! it's been several years since I last saw her, so we're catching up on lots! she's having me send her a huge box of my cards, too, so she can give them to her friends and neighbors. this card was one of the first ones she added to the pile. always makes me feel good to know my cards are going to happy homes! :)

hope you have a most amazing day!

Memorial Day Treat Bag with Bugaboo

Coffee of the Day - Maple Fudge

It's Memorial Day and I have a cute little project to share with all of you today! for 'Anything But a Card' over on the Bugaboo challenge and inspiration blog, I wanted to make a little something for my son who is off doing his summer internship. as a mom missing one of the birds in her nest, it's all about sending lots of care packages! :)

**the watermark I've been given by Bugaboo is the little lady in the car.
it is NOT part of the card.**

when looking through the Bugaboo store, I fell in love with the Edward USA image. I created my own star stencil using punches for the grey chevron bag. a quick spray of glimmer mist, papers from the Authentique Glory collection (they truly have the BEST patriotic papers!!!), glory blue seam binding (distressed) a re-purposed postage stamp, and this bag was ready to be filled with some goodies! hubby helped pick out the red, white, and blue treats plus a few sparklers for fun! shimmerz paint and a spica clear glitter gel pen add shiny accents to the main image.

while my project is fun and light hearted, we do pause to remember those who have given their lives as the greatest sacrifice for the freedoms we so cherish here in our country. I am thankful to them for their honor and bravery.

thank you so much for your continued kindness each time you stop by! it means so much to me! :)

Li'l Polly, Li'l Cutie!

Coffee of the Day - Vanilla Hazelnut

Hello and Happy Sunday! I have a post over on The Digi Bells blog again today with the precious "Li'l Polly"  that was sent as a Freebie Friday image. if you subscribe to the newsletter and Creative eBook, you'll get free images and fun info every week in your mailbox. it is one of the best deals around! :)

papers are from the Basic Grey PB & J collection, flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, red swiss dot grosgrain ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon, airmail baker's twine is from my stash so I apologize that I don't have a mfg for you, and buttons are from my vintage stash. flourish was cut from clear packaging with a Tim Holtz die and then the edges painted with acrylic paint. the flower in her hair was painted with shimmerz and some faux stitching was added to the punched border piece along the top of the large banner.

you can find lots of great images in Elisabeth Bell's digital collection at her store. :) her rubber stamps are for sale in many locations listed along the sidebar of the store site if you prefer those.

Be Happy

Coffee of the Day - Coconut

Hooray! It's the weekend!

so does that mean more crafty time for you? do you have a big picnic planned for the holiday? whatever you do, I hope the sun shines bright on you and your loved ones! :)

when I first saw this image from Elisabeth Bell, the little girl's joy was so contagious! I couldn't help but pair her with the 'be happy' Sizzix sentiment die (cut twice for extra ooomph and dimension)! :) she is called 'Laundry Peeker' and was part of a great Dollar Digi deal that takes place for a limited the first of each month. I can't wait to see what next month's image will be! :) I'm over on the Digi Bells blog for my first Guest Designer post if you would like to stop by.

nothing says 'happy' like the color yellow, so I grabbed some of the cheery 5/8" maize taffeta ribbon to tie a big bow. a bit of light pink mini ric rac adds the perfect accent to the bow. one of my fellow RRR DT members gives me a hard time for saving all of my little teeny tiny bits of ribbon, but doesn't the little pop of bright green swiss dot grosgrain look perfect here?! I thought so, too. tee hee!

a wonderful bouquet of assorted Wild Orchid Crafts mulberry flowers make a lush topper of sunshine! papers are from the Basic Grey Nook & Pantry collection, main & matting dies are by Spellbinders, buttons are from my vintage stash, and little dew drops are from Double Click Skittles. doily was sprayed with glimmer mist for even more shine.

and don't forget to play along in the Really Reasonable Ribbon vintage challenge as well as Elisabeth Bell's 'Tag You're It' challenge!

Challenges:
Digital Delights - anything goes
Outlawz Festive Fridays - National Go Barefoot Day
Lemon Shortbread - anything goes

Coffee of the Day - Sweet Potato

Hello, everyone! I hope you are doing well! sorry I've been hit and miss around here lately. still dealing with not feeling so whippy and this nasty headache/migraine that has been plaguing me since the first of the month. makes it so difficult to be on the compy. hope you can understand. I don't mention things like this often 'cause I know y'all don't want to listen to me moan and whine.

so let's get to the crafty stuff, shall we? that is much more fun! :)

today begins a new challenge of 'Anything Goes + a sentiment' over at Aud Sentiments as well as it being Oldie But Goodie day over on the Bugaboo blog where I am still doing my Guest Designer stint. I hope you will pop over to both blogs to see what everyone has created to inspire you! :) there are just so very many talented crafters! :)

for my card I started with the Bugaboo image, 'Frame It Greeting It'll Be Ok.' the bg was created with a stencil by The Crafter's Workshop, embossing paste, gelatos, and glimmer mist on watercolor paper. decorative paper is from the Basic Grey Fresh Cut collection. Lyndsey crochet lace ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon, aqua chrysanthemum is from Wild Orchid Crafts, wood veneer is from Lawn Fawn, and buttons are from my vintage stash. accents with the wink of stella glitter pen were used on the main image.

I'm sending this card to my cousin who has been taking care of her parents for almost her entire life. sadly, my uncle has just passed away. her mom has dementia, so her caretaking days are not over. I just wanted her to know that she is not alone.

I started with this precious vintage image of little rose girls from Create with TLC. I added frantage embossing powders to the image for a bit more of a vintage touch. edges were distressed and then inked.

papers are from the Authentique Treasure collection. Rosemary crochet lace trim and fuchsia satin with stitched center ribbon are both tied around the card base.  light pink mini ric rac is tied around the fuchsia bow.  a pale pink English rose and baby pink aster daisies adorn the corner of the vintage image. a sweetheart blossom sits in the opposite corner.

It's All About the COFFEE!

Winner at Fresh Brewed Designs

Coffee of the Day - Creme Brulee

This is a double Guestie post, since today I have the honor & privilege of being a Guest Designer over on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker Blog as well as my position through July with Bugaboo.

You could have knocked me over with a feather when Amy asked me if I would be interested in being a guest for her on the CLC blog. I'm a member on their Facebook group and play along in as many of the seasonal hops as I possibly can, but to be a guest designer?! whoa nelly! that is big time!!!

so of course I said YES!, spilled my coffee all over the place, brewed another cup, and then started planning what to make. could I stop with one project? heck no. had to make 2! :) 'cause that's just how I roll....

as soon as I saw the image that was going to be this week's Friday Freebie at Bugaboo, my twisted sister mind went all googly and came up with this sentiment. so I typed it out on my compy and got busy crafting! isn't this "I'm Cute" monster just so much fun?

bg was created by stamping an old coffee bean bg stamp from Rubbernecker Stamps on watercolor paper with versamark. I embossed it with copper ep. then I went to town with my gelatos and watercolors using lots of bright, cheerful colors. spritzed it with an overcoat of glimmer mist. paper is from the Basic Grey Highline collection.

burlap doily is from Hobby Lobby, flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, vivid pink seam binding (distressed with several shades of ink) & pink burlap string are from Really Reasonable Ribbon, and wood veneer coffee cup is from Latina Crafter. buttons are from my vintage stash. Starbucks coffee cozy and clothespin were painted with acrylic paint and then sponged with inks.

next card is made using a template from The Cutting Cafe and papers from the Basic Grey Grand Bazaar collection. I simply adore this coffee themed digi set from Bugaboo! made me smile the first time I saw it! meet 'Ruby Tidbits - Coffee.' :) isn't she a hoot? Bugaboo has lots of great coffee images!

bright pink swiss dot grosgrain & plum grosgrain ribbons are from Really Reasonable Ribbon and floral sequins are from Paper Sweeties. button is vintage and coffee cozy & stirrer are re-purpsed from a Starbucks trip. :)

thank you so much for stopping by! and thank you again to Amy for asking me to be a guest with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers!

I have several posts on my blog today, so grab a cuppa and stay a while if you'd like. :)

Sweet Hour of Prayer Sympathy Card

Nothing soothes the soul like a bit of vintage, a touch of shabby, and the sweet sound of an old hymn. add some pretty ribbons & trims, and we have the makings of a beautiful card to bring some comfort when a heart needs a hug.

I found a lovely old digital postcard image of a rose cluster that I knew would be perfect for a sympathy card I was making. when out on an antique adventure a month or so ago, an old hymnal was being given away. I quickly grabbed it because I love to use the pages on cards and other paper craft projects. a run through the printer and I can use this hymn as often as I like without worrying about running out of pages or songs.

The Edna crochet lace I used is currently out of stock, but there are many others that could easily be substituted. Forsythia seam binding was distressed with several shades of ink to age as well as lightly moistened and wrinkled before tying into a bow with natural burlap string. a pale yellow magnolia was lightly painted to match the image and then a leaf added for accent.

papers are from the Basic Grey Vivienne collection, buttons are from my vintage stash, and burlap doily is from Hobby Lobby. distress stickles edges the vintage postcard image that was overstamped with a SU! French script bg stamp. I also used my SU! ink squirty tool on it to add a bit more distressing.

be sure to check out the current challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon, too! we'd love to have you play along!

Altered Gift Basket and Tag for Baby Girl

Woooo Hoooo! It's the weekend! (this is the 2nd post today. scroll down, please, for my Bugaboo guest post)

I am excited to be the Guest Designer over at My Sheri Crafts! the theme for this fortnight is "Let's Go 3D". I am combining this project with my post for Really Reasonable Ribbon, especially since I use Really Reasonable Ribbons on almost every project I make. ;) thank you, Sheri, for asking me to be a guest with your fun blog! :)

Here in the United States we are celebrating Mother's Day tomorrow, so I thought it would be fun to share a little project I made for our neighbor who is expecting her second little girl anytime in the next week.

I started with an old fruit basket that hubby & I found on one of our adventures antiquing. a coat of acrylic paint, sponging with a few more, then several squirts of different shades of glimmer mist, and I was ready to decorate!

The edges were trimmed with a ruffled crepe paper border topped with Priscilla white crochet lace and  wild rose grosgrain ribbon. the same wild rose grosgrain also formed the bow, when combined with  pink burlap string. you can see that I also used the grosgrain and burlap string on the tag to continue the theme.

the flower cluster is formed with a pink chrysanthemum, pink aster daisies, and sweetheart blossoms, a mini sweetheart blossom decorates the tag.

The tag was also sprayed with glimmer mists. the adorable baby image is from Free Pretty Things For You and papers are from the Authentique Crush collection. (I made it all to match the card from back at this post.)

the basket is filled with diaper bag sized essentials every new mom will need. and she loved it when I delivered it several days ago! :)

Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms out there! :)

don't forget Really Reasonable Ribbon's current challenge going on, too!

Happy Mother's Day with Bugaboo!

Coffee of the Day - Coconut

Since I am a Guest Designer with Bugaboo, I get to play along in their challenges. A new one begins today with a fun, "Anything Goes" theme. I thought this would be the perfect time to make a Mother's Day card for my neighbor who is expecting her baby in the next week. (you might remember the little purse I shared on yesterday's post for her daughter.  check back in just a little bit for a baby gift I made.)

I don't know if you check the Bugaboo store very often, but every day a different stamp goes on sale for only $1. Between the daily sale and Freebie Fridays, it's a great way to stock up on cute images for not a lot of money! :) I happened to get this 'Mom Flower Trio' image a few weeks ago when it was on sale for $1. sure can't beat that!

**the watermark I've been given by Bugaboo is the little lady in the car.
it is NOT part of the card.**

I kept the card simple because I remember what it was like back in those days of having little ones in the house. no matter how much you tried to keep things out of reach, they still managed to get their hands on things that were supposed to be off limits. ;)

papers are from the Pink Paislee Hey Kid collection, sweetheart blossom is from Wild Orchid Crafts, and vivid pink seam binding is by Really Reasonable Ribbon. doily and buttons are from my stash. you can see I've used that ever present banner punch by SU!, too.

see you in just a little while with another post! :) and be sure to stop by the Bugaboo Challenge blog to see what the DT has come up with to inspire you!

A Pretty Little Pink Purse

Top 3 Pick at Scrapper's Delight

Coffee of the Day - Vanilla Macadamia

Our neighbor is expecting her 2nd child within the next week or so, and I wanted to make a little giftie for her daughter. She is just the cutest little girl and really loved to say hello to Mocha whenever we were all outside together. :)

This 'Lipstick' image was given as part of the Progressive Challenge over in the Scrapper's Delight Facebook group, so I thought it would be fun on a cute little paper purse.

a little doily smidgen, several shades of glimmer mist sprayed on the card stock, spot of vintage lace, WOC cosmos, a big bright button to hold it together (actually a velcro dot hidden under the flap does the trick!), and finally a strap made from hot pink quatrefoil satin ribbon tied in a bow.

we found several flavors of Burt's Bees lip balms to tuck inside. perfect for any 3 year old ready to be 'Big Sister'!!! :)

and she loved it! I was so happy when she kept putting on her 'lipstick' and then looked all over her house for things to put in her new purse! :)

Happy Friday to all of you! enjoy your day!

Life Give You Limes? Make Margaritas!

Coffee of the Day - Spiced Southern Pecan

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Here in our house we LOVE our Mexican food! so Cinco de Mayo is a day we love to celebrate! and yes, I do love a margarita, too! on the rocks, no salt for me. but I make a mean frozen one, too. especially when fresh summer fruits are available. yum, yum! nothing like a fresh watermelon margarita when it's super hot outside....

Betty, over at Simply Betty Stamps, drew this fabulous 'Rita Limes' image a few weeks ago. I knew she was one that just HAD to be part of my collection. :) and what better time to make a card with her than today!

paper is from the Authentique Utopia collection, flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, cream seam binding is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and dyed to match, as are gingham ribbon and crotchet trim snippets. sentiment portion was lightly sponged with ink and then sprayed with olive glimmer mist. I added rock candy distress stickles around the rim of the glass to mimic salt.

hope you have something fun planned for today to celebrate! we're having a fabulous breakfast with fresh salsa and chorizo then cooking fajitas on the grill for dinner. oh so tasty! :)

make it a good one, folks! thanks for stopping by! :)
