The Pretty Doily at Kaboodle Doodles

for my Paper Cupcakes post, please click here.

It's a bittersweet post for this one for Kaboodle Doodles, as it's the last one for my DT term. I have met some very kind people while serving on this term. This week our challenge is to use a doily on your papercraft project. The sponsor is Digis by Phooka, who will award one winner 3 digis of their choice.

I have chosen to use the Penguin with Igloo images for my card. papers are Basic Grey Nordic Holiday. it's a bit hard to see in the scan, but I also used chunky glitter on the igloo image for snow. the senti is a SU! rub-on. faux stitching has been added. the felt snowflake is also SU!

Coffee of the Day - Texas Turtle

Today starts a new challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles - layers. our sponsor this week is the fabby Stamping Boutique! one winner will receive 3 images from the store for playing along. it could be YOU! :)

I used this fun new image, 'Autumn Fashion Boots' and papers from the Basic Grey Pyrus collection. leaves were cut with the Tim Holtz tattered leaves die cut by Sizzix and then inked with white craft. the BG paper ones were also edged with faux stitching. Prima trim and leaf, some fun baker's twine, a mix of new & vintage buttons, dots made with a white gel pen, and a senti tag with Basic Grey rub-on saying 'autumn splendor' complete the card. plenty of layers here! :)

Chipboard with Kaboodle Doodles

for my Paper Cupcakes post, please click here.

The new challenge at Kaboodle Doodles this week is to use chipboard on your papercraft projects. Our sponsor is Simply Betty and one winner will receive 3 images from their store.

I saw the fun line of Design Team Divas and knew immediately that a few would have to go into my shopping cart! I used DT Diva Jen for my card, paired with a great senti from Create with TLC. Papers are Basic Grey Indie Bloom. her sunglasses are painted with shimmerz for extra shine. the chipboard flowers were first inked, then covered in stickles to give them a bit of sparkle as well. the rhinestone flourish is actually hot pink, but ended up looking purple in the scan. sorry about that..... I added an extra rhinestone as her earring for a bit of fun! some pink velvet ribbon finishes the card.

Today's new challenge at Kaboodle Doodles is to incorporate fabric, lace, and/or ric rac into your papercraft project. Our sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish. One winner will receive 5 images from their store. I know you will want to play along! be sure to stop by the KD blog to see all of the projects made by the DT.

I chose to use the 'Home for the Holidays' image for my card. Paper is from the Crate Paper Snow Day collection. It doesn't show well in the scan, but along the ground, hat, and birdhouse I have added chunky glitter for snow. The snowflakes were sprayed with sparkle shimmer spray. the heart is cut from a quilt piece for my fabric portion of the challenge. lace at the top is some from my vintage stash. some linen thread, Making Memories tag with senti, and buttons complete the card.

Feels good to get another holiday card finished. Have you started yours yet?

Ribbons, ribbons, ribbons

Coffee of the Day - Caramel Hazelnut

Hello! I know that you usually find Mondays here full of lots of DT posts. well today will be only one - Paper Cupcakes. that is because my fever ended up getting the best of me and turning into several different infections. I was a very sick puppy who slept a ton this past week. I had tests and CT scans at the hospital Friday, which wore me out something fierce. again, spent the weekend in bed doing nothing but sleep. thankfully my trusty pups were there to keep my warm and toasty safe! I am so grateful for my dogs! they do bring me so much comfort, especially when I don't feel well. and gosh, are they ever protective of me, too. kinda funny.

but anyhow, you didn't come here for all of that garbage, you came here for some papercrafts. so let's get to it! The challenge this week at Paper Cupcakes is to use ribbon at least 3 ways and have a birthday theme. I chose the fun image 'Party Pig' for my birthday card and paired him with Basic Grey papers from the Cupcake collection. I used the same stitched ribbon, but did different things with it. and yes, those are real balloons hanging from the one piece of ribbon! :) added some buttons and faux stitching along with a stamped senti to finish the card.

I do hope you will play along with us this week. you don't have to use a Paper Cupcake image, but Nina has a freebie on the blog if you would like to grab it. one winner will receive their choice of 2 images from the Paper Cupcakes store. stop by the blog to see the other DT members projects!

and please also visit Kaboodle Doodles, Happileigh Scrappin, Party Time Tuesdays and Heart Song Designs for the weekly challenges at each stop. this project happened to be one I had finished early, which is why I have something for today. hoping to get back to crafting later this week as I feel better.

The challenge at Kaboodle Doodles is to use ribbons on your project - easy peasy for me-sy! ;) Karber Digital Stamps is the sponsor, so one winner will receive 3 image from the store. very cool prize! do hope you will play along!

I saw this Beautiful Fairy image and knew she would be so pretty surrounded by ribbons and trims, so into the shopping cart she went. Papers are Basic Grey Kioshi. the soft colors from this collection seemed perfect. lots of sparkle and shine on her, thanks to shimmerz paint and stickles. flowers are Prima, buttons are vintage, mint green trim is also vintage, white trim is from JoAnn's, lavendar organdy ribbon is some I've had forever, tea tag is obviously one I saved but seemed perfect here, and if you look closely in the lower righ corner you will see the word 'fly'. so appropriate for this beauty!

Tag! You're it!

for my Paper Cupcakes post, please click here.
for my Happileigh Scrappin' post, please click here.

The new challenge this week over at Kaboodle Doodles is tag it or bag it, sponsored by Kenny K. One entrant will win a $10 gift certificate to the store, so be sure to play along!

My tag has already been gifted, a few weeks ago in fact! While Ryan was at Band Camp, each day they had different themes for spirit. One day was Super Hero Day. We have always called Ryan, 'Super Ry' after his addiction to all things Superman related. so when I found out about this challenge and Kenny K being the sponsor, this 'Huge Hero' image went right into my shopping cart! The first day of Band Camp Ryan received an award for outstanding showmanship and team support. So to reward him, I thought he deserved a Super Ry tag!

I cut a piece of cardboard into the shape of a tag and then separated the layers. This was then inked with white craft. Papers are Basic Grey Oxford, did you think I would actually go a day without a Basic Grey creation SOMEWHERE?!?!?! tee hee! hey, I was getting worried myself..... I added some fun brads across the bottom, linen thread, button, and ribbon. that fabby sentiment once again comes from Paulette over at Create with TLC. I then wrote my message on the flip side of the tag and presented along with a bag of Ryan's fave candy. he was happy! and I am proud, once again, of my amazing sons! :)

I do hope you will play along in this fun challenge! be sure to see what the rest of the DT have created to inspire you!

I found this adorable little ducky over in Lexi's shop and couldn't resist adding her to my shopping cart. isn't she precious?! The winner of the challenge will receive 3 images of their choice from the store.

Papers used are Cosmo Cricket DeLovely. ribbons are just some from my stash. the little button actually has a flower on it, but it's kinda hard to see in the scan. the tag has flowers stamped on it. the flowers on the main image have all been outlined with my spica glitter pen. the little pink roses are some resin ones I picked up on Etsy. love them!

The challenge at Kaboodle Doodles this week is stitching. well y'all know I can't sew to save my life, so faux we go! even that leaves a lot to be desired, but I gave it the ol' college try just the same..... Our sponsor is The Crafty Pad who will provide the winner with 2 images from the store.

I used papers from the Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety collection, which were perfect to accompany this cute strawberry trio. the little seeds were highlighted with my white gel pen, which was also used for all of the faux stitching. buttons, a Prima centered with stickles, and a big splashy red ribbon finish off this simple little card.

Embossing with Kaboodle Doodles

Third time is a charm, right?! ;)

for my Happileigh Scrappin' post, please click here.

for my Paper Cupcakes post, please click here.

And now for a happy card filled with fun embossing with this week's challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles! Our sponsor is Paper Shelter digi stamps who provided this adorable little flower for me to use. One winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to use in their store.

My papers are from K & Co. Que Sera Sera. I embossed the card base with the Cuttlebug swiss dot folder. I then used my white craft ink to accent the embossing. I used this same inking technique on the embossed Prima flower. some vintage lace trim, a photo corner, and a handful of buttons finish off the card.

I myself don't emboss as much as I should, so it was great to pull out my folders and use this fun technique. I'm already planning more projects in the future with some embossing. Please join us. I would love to see what neat ideas you have for your crafting! check out what the rest of the Design Team created to inspire us as well! :)

I think that gets me caught up for the moments..... now let's hope Mr. Blogger cooperates this time and posts everything properly while I go apologize to all of my DT friends and bosses...... :)

Cut it Out at Kaboodle Doodles

Coffee of the Day - Vanilla Macadamia Nut

Good morning! I hope you are starting out your week on a happy, happy note!

I am sharing my first post as a member of the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Design Team! in fact today is going to be one full of several first posts, so please check them all. :)

This week we are being asked to cut out something with our scissors. I decided to do this on a few levels. First I tried a new-to-me technique - out of the box. gosh, it was so fun that you are going to be seeing a lot more of this, I can tell you! also, this cute little sun was cut out after being printed on that gorgeous yellow paper, which is part of the Basic Grey Junebug collection. then the leaf, heart at the side, & flower were all popped up on dimensionals. the clouds were die cut from writing paper & edged in stickles. the tips of the sun rays were also dotted with stickles. oh gosh I almost forgot, this cutie little bear as well as the sun come from The Stamp Fairy who is sponsoring the challenge this week. The prize is 3 images from her store. so cool!

I do hope you will play along this week & welcome the other new DT members, too. :)
