Floral Wedding Card in Greens and Purples

Coffee/Tea of the Day - Spiced Hazelnut Rum

Hello and Happy Friday to you! :)
I am sharing the first of several projects that I have recently created. I will spread out the posts over several days, as I am feeling well enough to get to the computer. btw, thank you for the kind and encouraging comments left on my previous post! :) y'all are amazing!!!

The first card was created for our son's wedding last month. the card is a bit larger than a typical size. sorry, I didn't get it measured.
digital papers and images are from Roxy's Creations. She has some gorgeous paper kits and vintage ephemera pieces in her store. if you sign up for her newsletter, she occasionally sends out freebies. I think the pieces used here are from the green and purple kits. I printed both out at the same time for this and another project I will be sharing shortly.

flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, word die is by Tim Holtz, seam binding is from Zipper Stop, and the vintage buttons, doily, burlap ribbon, & sequins are from my stash. "Love" was embossed with copper ep.

Thank you very much for stopping by! I hope you have a most amazing weekend! :)

Rehearsal Dinner Invitation

Coffee/Tea of the Day - Bossa Nova tea (a vanilla and hazelnut blend - perfect for fall)

Hello! so happy to see all of you today! :)

I am actually feeling pretty good, the sun is shining, a new Doctor arrives on Sunday (for all of you Whovians out there!!!), and I am heading right to my craft room just as soon as I finish typing up this post. yep, life is good indeed. :)

I wanted to share with everyone the invitation I made for Tyler and Danielle's rehearsal dinner. we had such a wonderful time! our brother-in-law, Wilson, cooked the meats on the grill for us while the rehearsal was going on. Ryan's fiancee, Elizabeth, and I were busy in the kitchen getting everything ready as the key players took part in the rehearsal. goodness gracious, I could NOT have gotten everything done without that young lady's help. she was such a saving grace to me that weekend!!!! we are blessed to have her joining our family, without a doubt!!!!

since I had been out of commission for so long with my seizures, I was trying to make things as easy as possible before hand, so did order a few items from local vendors. we have a fabulous apple orchard nearby that makes the most wonderful pies. I ordered a variety from them for dessert and then made some chocolate chip cookies to go along with them. a dear friend of ours has a homemade ice cream business, so they provided an assortment of flavors to go with our desserts. Tyler and I picked up about 6 varieties of breads from Great Harvest Bread Company earlier in the day. oh yum, is about all that needs to be said to that! :) Smoked Chipotle Baked Beans, a French Style Potato Salad, Marinated Fresh Tomato and Mushroom Salad, and Kettle chips finished out the meal. simple, but so very tasty and filling for an evening surrounded by the people who love you!

my invitation was made with papers from the Carta Bella Flora no. 2 collection. pretty ribbons are tied for accent, but kept simple to ease mailing. plenty of distressing to add that shabby touch I love so much. they were a large 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" size.

all of the tables were decorated in navy gingham. paper products were the same. David made these amazing wooden tool box type centerpieces that we filled with mason jars. they held cutlery and napkins. even the dogs were wearing navy gingham bandannas! they looked so cute! :) Tyler bought a navy gingham shirt to wear that night, too, to keep in the spirit!

thanks for stopping by! I'll be back on Saturday for World Card Making Day with a project, hopefully!, and my blog candy! see you then. :)

Long Time, No See....

Coffee/Tea of the Day - Peach Melba tea

Hello! Sorry that I have been away for so long. I had a very nasty flu bug that kept me in bed for over 3 weeks. just started feeling better this past weekend. it was a really horrible bug. still have the icky cough, but it is finally getting manageable.  the seizures are starting to get a bit better, and I will be going to a seizure specialist after the wedding.

speaking of the wedding, the big day is this weekend!!!! we are in the throes of final preparations now. yep, chaos around here!!!! family starts arriving tomorrow, in addition to Dave and I celebrating our 32nd anniversary on Thursday. lots going on!!! :) but it's all for a very fun reason. :)

needless to say, I haven't done any extra crafting to speak of. lots of stuff for the wedding, obviously, but not much to share here yet.  more than anything I am just thankful that I am beginning to feel a bit better. taking it as easy as I can so that I can be there for the wedding day. every cabin at Camp is full with the exception of just one or two, so it's going to be wonderful to have so many people around to celebrate so much love!

I'll be back in a week or two to post photos. we are pet sitting for Mick and Lauren next week as they take a vacation, so our house will be full of lots of four legged mischief! :D

Not Quite Yet...

Coffee of the Day - Coconut Salted Caramel

Sorry that I haven't posted any craft projects yet. a nasty migraine has taken hold, and I am having a tough time with it right now. I take medication daily to deal with these, so it's been a long time since one has knocked me out to this level.

hope to be back in the game again soon. so very sorry to disappoint. just as soon as I think I have it licked, it comes creeping back again. :( yuck.

here's a photo that Danielle sent to me last night of a banner that she made. she and her maid of honor were able to get several made. isn't it so pretty? several of the ribbons are from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I think this gives a total of about a dozen that have been made so far. some of them have burlap and denim banner pieces in them with the ribbons and trims. lots of vintage laces are added to them as well.

What's Been Going On....

Coffee of the Day - is tea! :) Lemongrass Ginger Basil green blend

Hello! We are busy busy busy over here with the big autumn wedding that seems to be quickly approaching! So much crafting to do to get ready!

Tyler and Danielle are having all aspects of the wedding out at Camp, from the rehearsal dinner all the way through to the brunch the day after, so we are making all kinds of shabby, vintage pretties to decorate and beautify! :)

The house is over-run with vintage treasures we have been picking up at antique stores all across Ohio and Pennsylvania, as well as ribbons & fabrics, mason jars, grapevine wreaths, and more kinds of moss than you knew grew in the forest! tee hee!

of course the bride will be the star of the show, as she should be!!! everything else is just setting the stage until she makes her appearance when she comes down the aisle.....

Much love to all of you!

My Silky Crush True Love

Waving hello! :)

this is my first post as a NEWBIE over on the RRR blog! to say I'm happy would be a slight understatement! I'm still floating around on Cloud 9 that I'm a part of this most fabulously amazing team of crafters....

I confess right off the bat that I have a crush on the silky crush ribbon.... yes, it's corny, but oh, so true! you'll probably find me saying that I am in puppy love with pretty much every ribbon Bonnie has in the store, but there is just something so irresistible about this line of ribbons.... so yes, I think I ordered them all. ha!

when I received my ribbon kit for this month (okay, have to stop and go SQUEAL for a moment.... isn't it fabulous?!?!!?), I noticed how well the golds blend with the champagne silky crush. bingo! card making time!

I needed a card for some friends of ours who married, so the golds went perfectly with the blues from their color scheme. the stitched satin old gold from the kit, paired with the champagne silky crush, a pop of white from the ever so lush double faced satin ribbon, and this card is ready to go!

images are from Make it Crafty, pearl/rhinestone swirl, blue roses, and gold glitter flower are all from Prima, rose buds are WOC, and button is vintage. paper is actually a Christmas one from Basic Grey - Merrily from the Juniper Berry collection. the gold stripes were perfect for what I wanted. :) little accents of shimmerz paint were added to parts of the church as well as distress stickles to the flower centers of the frame.

Challenges (wedding card):
Crafty Calendar - Sparkle, Bling, and Embellish
Craft Rocket - pearls & gems (the flourish is actually both)
Star Stampz - pick 3 or more from list on blog: digi, pearls (from flourish), ribbon, button, flower, sparkle (shimmerz paint, stickles, and glitter on rose)

Sketched Roses for Mr. & Mrs.

Coffee of the Day - Almond Joy

I mentioned yesterday that I have several wedding cards to make. I was doing my usual stop by Create with TLC today (I get there as often as I can anyhow) and saw that Paulette had posted a beautiful sketched roses image. I thought it would make a pretty wedding card, so I quickly printed it off this morning. got busy in the craft room, and here is what I ended up with. ;)

The floral bg paper is by Free Pretty Things for You. not sure who made the music sheet paper. I normally add the store's name to each one I save, but this only says, 'free'. I'll try to track it down for you and then post.....

******I found the site for the paper. it is Free Vintage Digi Stamps, and here is the link to the actual page. if you like vintage, then you should follow her blog. way cool stuff on there! *****

image was first shaded with SU! inks and q-tips. I then applied the cracked glass technique. once I cracked the image, I lightly sponged kraft ink over the top.

sentiment is a sticker by SRM, flowers are a combo from Wild Orchid Crafts, Prima, and Making Memories, rhinestone flourish is by Zva Creative, satin ribbon is May Arts, doily is from stash, and buttons are vintage.

hope you have a most AMAZING weekend! :)

I Do

Coffee of the Day - Caramel Nut

Some years we have no weddings to attend, and then others like this year, we have so so many! I am working like a busy busy bee trying to get cards made for all of them.

The beautiful image on this card is 'I Do' by A Day for Daisies. Tammy's images are something unique indeed, so I imagine I'll be using them for most of these wedding cards.

I paper pieced the outfits using digital papers from the Basic Grey Little Black Dress collection. the gorgeous die set is by Spellbinders. flowers are a mix of Wild Orchid Crafts and Making Memories, rhinestone flourish is Zva Creative, and buttons & lace trim are vintage. silver doily is from my stash.

I'll be posting my blog candy sometime this weekend, I hope. a few things I had ordered arrived today, so I just need to finish getting things together and then take a photo. one of our pups isn't doing too well, so I've been a bit sidetracked with her. :(

anyway, all of you have a most fabulous weekend!

Just Married Getaway Car

Coffee of the Day - Pumpkin Spice

Hello and happy Tuesday! the weather has been so very nice and cool here. I hope all of you are enjoying the summer days wherever in the world you are..... I must say that my soul just smiles with the sun shining, light breezes in the air, and the sound of the birds singing their songs. life is beautiful indeed! :)

I have a card to share with all of you today for a wedding this weekend. David was kindly asked to officiate at another wedding of 2 former employees from Camp. it seems that every summer there is at least one wedding of Camp employees. I can't really explain the special bond everyone there shares. it really is a unique relationship that is so very close and precious. Couples who met over 20 and 30 years ago at Camp will still drop by on their wedding anniversaries just to take a walk down memory lane. Camp Burton has been around for over 50 years. We are so blessed to be part of something pretty amazing God is doing in this little corner of the world! :)

I am using this cute little Just Married couple from Jellypark, papers from the Basic Grey Lucille collection, Prima flowers, Spellbinders dies, buttons from my stash, and some seam binding that was sprayed with Studio Calico Mr. Huey's shine spray. the glass on the car windows and rear view mirrors was coated with crystal effects, while the big bow, flowers in the bride's hair, and tail lights were painted with shimmerz.

Have a grand and wonderful week! :)

You Are Beautiful

Coffee of the Day - Coconut Marshmallow (Ryan bought this for me yesterday! what a treat!)

We have a wonderful showcase over at Milk Coffee for you today. Our theme is florals and there are some gorgeous samples on the blog by the team. I hope you will stop over to see what everyone has created to inspire you!

My card uses the beautiful Tiffany in flowery bridal gown image from the Etsy store. the sentiment is from Create with TLC. the papers are digital ones, Carina Gardner Flourish. buttons and lace are vintage, leaf die is SU!, gorgeous flower is from Wild Orchid.

there is a lot of sparkle and shine on this card that doesn't really show in the scan. the roses have all been covered in milled lavender distress stickles as was the border the, accent dots were highlighted with my clear spica glitter pen, the flower was sprayed with shimmer mist, and the sentiment banner was sprayed with glimmer mist. A silver doily is tucked away in behind the flower, but might be kind of hard to see.

Even though the calendar says spring, we are in the midst of a huge snowstorm here in NE Ohio. 3"-5" of snow are expected today and temps are about 15*. roads are pretty nasty. I do love snow, but I'm happiest when no one is out driving in it. my guys start their Spring Break tomorrow, so I'm excited! :)
