Hello and Happy Monday!
It's me again with a card to hopefully inspire you to head straight to your craft room! :)
as I've mentioned in my earlier Elisabeth Bell/Digi Bells Guest Designer posts, being a subscriber to the newsletter & Creative eBook is a fabulous deal! every Friday, Elisabeth so very kindly sends out a free digi image, along with some fun info.
I was working on another project entirely when my Friday Freebie image arrived in my mailbox. I have to tell you, the tears started almost instantly. you see, the image is called 'Waiting for Daddy to Come Home Peeker.' she could have been drawn of me when I was a little girl! really! I'm getting all misty as I sit here typing....
every day I would sit by the window and wait for my Daddy to come home. I created a little game to help pass the time. it was just the 2 of us, as I was an only child. summers I would go stay with relatives, but when I knew he was coming to pick me up, I'd sit in front of that window for hours on end until his car came up the driveway.
papers are from the Basic Grey Dear Heart collection, ribbon, seam binding, & ric rac are from Really Reasonable Ribbon, and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. crochet trim is by Heidi Swapp. buttons are from my VERY precious vintage collection that I use only on really special cards. it's the most gorgeous jar of buttons I came across at an antique store and couldn't resist them!
this year it will be 24 years that my dad has been gone. I still miss him every day. each year I create a tribute card for him, so Elisabeth's timing couldn't have been more perfect. my birthday and Father's Day often land on the same day, so those days were always special to us no matter how old I got or how far I moved away.
Daddy, I'm still waiting by the window. and I'm still missing you.
