as I mentioned before, life is pretty interesting at our house on a daily basis. ;)
the card base is sprayed with several shades of blue glimmer mists with The Crafter's Workshop mini fish scale stencil. 'have hope' is from the stamp set of the same name by My Favorite Things. the branches were cut from a Starbucks coffee cozy with a TH die. leaves were cut from Basic Grey Persimmon paper with a TH die. little baby flowers are Prima. I think the button is SU!. paint along the edges is white mixed with a few drops of baked brown sugar re-inker. I didn't have a tan acrylic paint, so I just made my own.
I also want to tell all of you thank you for your support as we have gone through the ups and downs of first thinking I was cancer free and then discovering I might not be. it means a lot to have all of you here with us. thank you!
Have a wonderful weekend! :)

Jen,
ReplyDeleteBeen away from the computer the last couple of days due to work related issues and just saw your last three post. Know I am praying that the whatever the scan picked up turns out to be nothing to be concerned about. Glad you weathered the snow storm and hope that you are nice and warm and cozy! Looks like winter has made its appearance! :) Your card is wonderful as always. Hope you have a great weekend and I will be praying for ya!!

You are in my prayers. My husband is fighting cancer right now. The hardest thing to deal with, for me, is the constant "cancer mood swings". One day its good news, the next day its not. And every time he has a twinge, fever, muscle ache, anything - I'm sure it's recurrence. It just absolutely sucks. This is the first year I haven't done the HYCCT cards at SCS - I just don't have the emotional fortitude to be creative.
ReplyDeletePrayers for you -- I wish you the best.
Great project.Thank you for joining us at Crafty Bloggers Network with our anything goes challenge hugs Tania (DT) xx

Hey there Jennifer! Long time since we had contact. I am so sorry to hear your news. This really touched me and my heart is sad; but I know you, your spirit, your passion for life and your radiant surviving fighting trailblazing ways. From that standpoint, I want to tell you I am with you in my prayers and will be for the long haul. You are never alone - I know you know that.
ReplyDeleteYour card is precious. And yummalicious - if it has anything Starbucks on it, it is a winner with me!!! The colors on it are so beautiful and soft and serene and I really love your mixed media style. It is beautiful the way you have combined traditional art with the bohemian. Jennifer, you are the one to come over to Path of Positivity because I think of you that way. I want to thank you for entering your card and hope you will come again and grace us with your art. Many hugs, Samara DT POP

Hey Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteLife really has been a roller coaster for you, hasn't it?. I just spent some time catching up on the events of the last few weeks and also read your post that came after this one. I am really sorry that once again you have to live with the fear of a possible recurrence. Additionally, I am sorry that you are feeling this way about crafting and that something that used to be joyful and a salvation for you, has become something that you need to walk away from.
Before you did, I am glad that you entered your beautiful artwork into our challenge. My wish for you as you step away is that you will heed the words of your card and always keep hope alive in your heart.
Thank you so much for joining this month on the Path of Positivity. I'm so glad that you found my challenge and once you return to crafting, I hope that you will consider joining us again.
Wishing you all the best on your journey!

First time here, and I love your mixed media card. I didn't know you could feed it through a printer or I would have done so years ago! Love it!
ReplyDeleteOn a personal note, your card says it all right now in your personal life. While you have this cloud over you, the best way to deal with it is to keep calm and hope on! Lots of people are paying for you, including this perfect stranger!
If there were a picture under the word hope in my dictionary it would be your face.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Chris V
wonderful creation Jennifer...As wonderful a creation as you are in God's eyes! Always remember that and stay strong and have Hope as in your card...I love everything that you have used on this card but the Starbucks coffee cup holder is the best! I also have ventured into re-purposing cool items like that.
ReplyDeleteIn my prayers and thoughts daily,
Hugs,
Georgia
Hi, Jennifer! What a wonderful card design - really unique with the symbolism of rainbows in the background, a darling little owl sporting pink in solidarity, and wonderful branch - the leaves look fabulous! You are in my thoughts and prayers. hugs, de
