Stripes and Plaids at Pile it On

Coffee of the Day - Buttered Rum

It's unusual to see me 2 weeks in a row over at Pile it On, but I am filling in for a dear friend this week. her pup isn't feeling very well, so not only am I helping her out by taking her DT spot, but I also made a card that I can pop in the mail to her! :) our new challenge at Pile it On is stripes and/or plaids. we are sponsored by the oh, so fun 2 Cute Ink.

please don't look too closely at my card or you will see the snafus that are all over it! that's what I get for trying to craft when my temp is over 101*! and of course most of the problems I didn't spot until after I had scanned it. isn't that the way it usually happens? oh well. so we will chalk it all up to 'whimsy' and hope for better luck next time! :)

image is Patches the Weenie dog, papers are Basic Grey Cupcake, flower is Petaloo, chevron die is MFT, linen thread is SU!, and buttons are from my stash. sentiment is Create with TLC. I added a bit of faux stitching to the banner and chevron border.

Challenges:
Simply Create Too - bingo (N: red, bow, 3 layers, flowers, punch or die cut)
Sister Act - anything goes
Catch the Bug - anything goes
Card Crafter's Circle - stripe me silly
Craft Your Passion - natural materials (linen thread)
Pause Dream Enjoy - use foam tape (main image)
Songbird - all creatures great and small
The Crazy Challenge - use sentiments
Paper Creator's Crafts - anything goes
Hobby House - anything goes

  3. THANK YOU! You couldn't have made a better card no matter what your temperature is. It is darling, and the doggie image put a big grin on my face. My little guy is sitting next to me trying to figure out how to get that hoop off his head. It's throwing him for a loop but the doc wants his incision to get air and without the hoop he will lick it to pieces.
Other than the hoop he's taking it in stride.
Thanks again, it was really good to have one less thing to have to fret over. You know the card making isn't so big a deal as getting all the challenges together.
    I hope you're feeling well.
    Hugs,
Chris (and Bill Bailey sends licks)

  4. Sending you a big HUG...and more prayers and praying this new mass will be benign.

My Mom also just found out she has a nodule that needs to be biopsied and has to stop her Coumadin first and then is scheduled for her Bx on June 10th...scary, especially after her emergency triple bypass surgery earlier this year. IT's been a horrible year and I just HOPE for you, things will improve.

I am meeting with my doc this week to review my recent lab work and to discuss having the genetic test to see whether or not I carry the Breast Cancer Gene, which I do think at this point I want to find out. I think that way I can be pro-active in my choices....but I am still not 100% sure and still need more info.

I had a scare with uterine cancer recently too, so it's been a very upsetting time, yet I still not can begin to imagine what you are going through.

My Mom refused to have Chemo, which is scary and a bummer to me, and she had Radiation previously, so I'm not sure that is an option...ugh!!

Breast Cancer is such a hard thing...and my heart continues to be with your during your journey and I still hope and pray you will beat this!!

    Lots of love and hugs,
    Lisa
