Coffee of the Day - Caramel Hazelnut
Today is a fun challenge at Pile it On - use something that starts with 'P'. Jellypark is the sponsor, so you KNOW you want to play along! :)
I used this adorable new image from Jellypark, 'Puppy Dog' and papers from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Halloween collection. I paper pieced the little guy and added a fun field of grass for him to play in! The card base was first sanded, then lightly inked with vanilla craft, & finally sprayed with coffee glimmer mist. the senti, from Create with TLC, is sprayed with the same glimmer mist.
I have to tell you about the extra accents on here. As most of y'all know, I am notorious for grabbing all kinds of things from all kinds of places to use on my projects. Well Mick spent part of this past spring and summer working for a landscaping company. he had one pair of blue jeans that he wore it SEEMED like every day (although I know he didn't really!!). even though we bought him a few new pair of jeans to get him through the end of summer, he seemed to like wearing those jeans best. as of last week there wasn't much left of them. I finally put them through the wash for the last time, telling him I wanted to grab them for belt loops, pockets, zippers, etc. before throwing them out. he let me know there wasn't going to be much in the way of belt loops left to grab. truer words were never spoken! what you see here are the remnants of a belt loop! I loved the frayed ends so much that I had to use them on this card! of course I grabbed the pocket tag, too. :)
guess who is getting this card tucked away in some box to be found as he unpacks at college tomorrow night? yep, Mick! the ideal card for someone majoring in zoology! he will get a kick out of seeing what little remains of those jeans on a card, as well as a card letting him know that our dogs here at home are thinking of him. :)
Don't forget the big blog hop on Wednesday! I've heard there are almost 50 blogs participating and so so so many prizes up for grabs! I hope you will be there! :)
