Everlasting Kaleidoscope

Coffee of the Day - Vanilla Biscotti

My card today uses digis from Doodle Beans. The sentiment is actually a freebie - what a special treat! :) I painted the entire kaleidoscope circle with butter cream shimmerz once the ink had dried to add a sparkle like the toys have. Because shimmerz are water based, the inks began to run a bit, which led to a really cool effect - at least I happen to like the way it turned out! I sponged a dark grey ink around the edges of the image to highlight the digi itself and then ran my paintbrush still filled with shimmerz along the edges. The paper is Basic Grey Marrakech. Ribbon and trim are actually some remants I picked up, buttons are from my vintage stash, and felt flower is a Prima with a blue dew drop center.

This morning as I was taking Mick and Ryan over to the high school for their marching band trip to Cedar Point Amusement Park, I heard one of my favorite songs of all time - "From the Inside Out". Many people know it as "Everlasting". It was made famous by Hillsong, but has recently been released by another artist. It seemed so providential to hear this....... and I was in tears as soon as the first notes began playing. I will post some of the lyrics here. Please go see the YouTube video if you get the chance. It is truly powerful. And so amazing that it goes with the card I had planned to post today - a kaleidoscope - a toy that goes around and around, always changing, but always staying constant. So reminiscent of God and His love for us. I needed this after the news I received on Friday about all of my tests. it wasn't good. and I am still reeling. I'll talk about it later, but in the mean time I rest in the assurance that God is Everlasting. Amen.

A thousand times I've failed
Still your mercy remains
And should I stumble again
Still I'm caught in your grace

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
my heart and my soul, Lord I give you control
Consume me from the inside out Lord
Let justice and praise become my embrace
To love You from the inside out

Your will above all else, my purpose remains
The art of losing myself in bringing you praise

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
my heart and my soul, Lord I give you control
Consume me from the inside out Lord
Let justice and praise become my embrace
To love You from the inside out
