I had a lovely Saturday, and I hope that you did as well! My middle son, Mick, wanted to go visit a friend who lives near PA. The drive takes about 1 1/2 hours, but there is a HOBBY LOBBY there!!!! So I offered to stay and bring Mick back after they went to the movie and did whatever else they were going to do. (did I happen to mention that this friend is a GIRL!?!?!) anyhow, not only was there a Hobby Lobby, but there was also a JoAnn's and a Michaels all within the same 5 minute drive! and there was a CHILI'S!!!!! the closest Chili's Rest. to us is on the other side of the Cleveland airport and that is almost 1 1/2 hours away. So needless to say, I was in little hoggie heaven!!!!!! oh yeah, STARBUCKS, TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! an individual one (with drive thru) and one at the Barnes & Noble. Can you tell I live in a small area and am like a little kid going to Toys 'R Us for the first time? They want to get together again the weekend after next, so I so very graciously volunteered to drive again......... oh, the sacrifices we Moms make for our children!!!! ;)
I guess you would probably like to see a card while you are here. I made another card using my fun coffee stamps from Stamps Happen, Inc. of the Janlynn Corp. I decided to partner them with something completely off-the-wall: the new Marrakech paper collection by Basic Grey. Now I know you think I've lost my ever lovin' mind, and while you might just be right, I do like the way this turned out. I also used some of my coffee paper that I made this past week with the used coffee grounds on cs. Doesn't this look cool?!?!?!? More of the neat May Arts mesh ribbon and a vintage button complete the look. I challenge you to grab some paper that you wouldn't think to use with a particular stamp and just GO FOR IT! you will probably be surprised at how your creativity will flourish when you push yourself just a wee bit further than you think you can go. We all need that every once in a while!
Love ya!
Jennifer
Love your description of your day, I grew up in a small town so I completely understand!! I love where I live now, I can be almost anywhere in 20 minutes or so. Love the pairing of your card and your images, looks great together.
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer, this card is way too cute, I'm so lovin that coffee paper. And aren't our sacrifices just horrible-lol, Have a great day
ReplyDeleteI love your card and thoroughly understand how you feel going to the "city". Glenwood Springs is two and a half hours from Denver and I try get there when the snow has stopped as much as possible. My poor kids have been to the zoo a million times....my excuse to go shopping.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card!! AND I know what you mean about living in a small town!! Whenever I get a chance I drive to Evansville which is a hour drive for us and then I can visit all the great stores!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had an awesome day. I live in a small place, and I love it. I love your card, the paper is great.
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny. I love your plan. I hope she is a nice girl. Does she like to stamp or craft by any chance. I think you hit all my favorites. How fun. Great card. Your sacrifices were well spent..tfs
ReplyDeleteThis coffee card is just fantastic!!!! I love the colors you used.
ReplyDeletei had an awesome saturday too, hehe!! wonderful card as always, jennifer! xo!
ReplyDeleteFun to see more of your coffee paper. (I still want to know whether or not it smells like coffee...?) I like the way you've cut your rectangles with wavy lines, too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a fantastic day! I love it when it's one fun thing after another!
ReplyDeleteHi, Jennifer--that sounds like a perfect shopping day to me! I just wanted to let you know that I did get your address today; I have e-mailed you several times, but I think a s*amblocker must be eating my e-mails. I'll try to get to the post office tomorrow. {{{Hugs!}}}
ReplyDeletehahahahahhaha
ReplyDeleteYeah ... "sacrifices" .... I completely understand! Who could resist an actual "reason" to go near JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby, and Chili's all in one day, when there's not usually a good enough call for such a treat! You go girl!
MMMmmmm loving your card while I am sipping on my starbucks bold blend a secret sister sent me....I am off to Fayetteville today and they have a starbucks - I will be stopping! Where on earth in Ohio are you that Hobby Lobby is not? I thought they were all over Ohio!!??
ReplyDeleteI am loving this card! I love coffee themed stuff. I live in a tiny town, but luckily I can hop on the interstate and be at Hobby Lobby in about 20 minutes. I had to take my girls to the Dr yesterday and it's a solid 30 minutes or more away in Knoxville and I *had* to hit Target while I was over there. I mildly complain about living out here in cow-ville, but we're really lucky to live so close to a large city.
ReplyDeletedon't ya juss love makin' excuses to go shopping when it presents itself...lol...lovely card...although I'm not a Starbucks fan prolly cuz I'm a Canadian Bred Timmy's lover..BUT I love Starbucks chi lattes...yumm :D
