Enjoy Life

Coffee of the Day - Gingerbread

What a glorious fall day it is here! although some might beg to differ, it's all a matter of perspective..... we can find joy wherever we happen to look. the cloudy backdrop sets off the beautiful golds and reds of the changing leaves. the brisk temps and wind let me know that snow is just around the corner. you know how much I LOVE the snow! :) the squirrels and chippys are out scurrying around gathering as many nuts as they can, so it's fun to watch them in action. while I sit looking out the window with my ever present cup of coffee or tea, I can gaze upon God's creations and smile. there is always beauty to behold if we but stop and seek it.

Today is my dad's birthday. He has been gone from this world for 19 years. I miss him so much still, but treasure dearly the moments we had. I was blessed indeed to have him in my life.

My card today uses an image from the October Club Kit at A Day for Daisies called 'My Apple Tree'. When I was little my dad and I used to go pick apples together every fall, and that is something I passed on to my sons. It made me smile when a few weekends ago Mick took his girlfriend apple picking, too. how wonderful to see the traditions being passed on, as they are meant to be! :) so this cute little image has a special meaning to me. the senti from Create with TLC seemed the perfect pairing. papers are Basic Grey Oxford. a cardboard mat was also cut with the Spellbinders die and then inked with white craft. a fun little bow of red twine was attached with a mini clothespin.

CCEE Stampers - fall
CRAFT - autumn
Do You Stack Up - trees
Little Red Wagon - fall

Hello my friend!! Your creation is of course awesome but I truly enjoyed your story. I too miss my Dad (22 years gone) and remember so many 'outdoors' things he shared with my sisters & I. It great that you've continued your tradition of apple picking and now your son is keeping it going too! That's FABULOUS! Enjoy these FALL days ... yes ... that _ _ _ _ is right around the corner!!

Thanks so much for joining our 'Apple Time' challenge at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge. I hope to see you again next challenge!

Jenn, I am glad you have those wonderful memories of your dad, I felt sad as I read about your missing him, I truly understand. I miss my dad, too. Enjoy the fall weather, I am afraid we don't have too much more of it left. Thanks, so much, for joining us in the CCEE challenge.
